供奉灯火功德极大。如果持续不断地日夜供奉，则能延年益寿，增盛运势。灯光能消除障碍，增长智慧之光明。据说夜晚自己的身体被灯光照到会有罪过。如果要做灯的占卜，首先倒入酥油后，观察灯口，灯口高则好，平则中等，低则不好。灯芯多则障碍多。灯芯顶端直则好，弯则中等，断则不好。点燃灯时，如果颜色黄且光亮大，则寿命和福德增长，是好的征兆。如果发出大的噼啪声，则是鬼怪作祟。如果光呈蓝色且旋转，则会带来悲伤，运势低落。如果火焰中断，则是疾病的征兆。如果光小，则是食物匮乏。如果酥油发出臭味，且结成莲花状，则寿命和财富增长。 再者，占卜灶火的方法是：需要观察燃烧重物和干燥的木柴等。如果一开始火星噼啪作响很多，则是妖魔鬼怪进入家中的征兆。如果火色白且易燃，烟小，火焰平稳，则对大众有益。如果火色红黑或蓝色，且烟大，则一切都不好。之后，如果火的余烬持续时间长，则是好的征兆。 老人们是这样占卜家犬的：在没有人的时候，狗叫一声，则有盗贼。叫两声，则有客人来。叫三声，则身体安康。叫四声，则说会有很多疾病。叫五声，则高兴。叫六声，则会发生痛苦。叫七声，则会争吵。叫八声，则会远行。叫九声，则会下雪。叫十声，则会找到财物。超过十声之后，就不能再根据叫声进行占卜了。 关于梦的好坏：梦见找到玉、建造佛塔、戴新帽子、佩戴装饰品、在山顶唱歌、吹海螺、骑好马向上走、太阳升起等都是好的征兆。梦见找到珊瑚、砍树、穿鞋、天黑并向下走、被野兽追赶、挖地洞等都是不好的征兆。特别地，梦见金银是做事拖延的绊脚石。梦见大蒜、洋葱、大麦和黑豆是人际关系不好的征兆。梦见水和冰雹是中了邪术的征兆。梦见白色或红色的呢绒、雪等，则必须出门远行。梦见山羊、绵羊、骡子等，则是灵魂游荡的征兆。

The light will dispel obstacles and increase the light of wisdom. It is said that if your body is exposed to the light of a butter lamp at night, there will be negative consequences. When examining a butter lamp, first pour in butter and observe the opening. If the opening is high, it is good. If it is even, it is medium. If it is low, it is bad. If there are many wicks, there will be many obstacles. If the tip of the wick is straight, it is good. If it is bent, it is medium. If it is broken, it is bad. When lighting the lamp, if the color is yellow and the light is bright, it is good because it increases life and merit. If there is a loud crackling sound, it is the face of a demon. If the light is blue and swirling, it will bring sorrow and lower fortune. If the flame is cut off, it is the face of illness. If the light is small, there will be a shortage of food and drink. If the butter smells bad and forms a lotus shape, life and wealth will increase. Furthermore, the method of examining the fire in the stove is to observe the burning of heavy objects and dry wood. If many sparks crackle at first, it is a sign that demons have entered the house. If the fire is white and easy to ignite, the smoke is small, and the flame is steady, it is good for everyone. If the fire is red-black or blue, and the smoke is large, it is bad in every way. Then, if the embers of the fire last a long time, it is a good sign. Elderly people use the following method to examine the house dog: If a dog barks once when no one is around, there are thieves. If it barks twice, a guest will come. If it barks three times, the body will be healthy. If it barks four times, it is said that there will be many diseases. If it barks five times, there will be joy. If it barks six times, suffering will occur. If it barks seven times, there will be quarrels. If it barks eight times, there will be a long journey. If it barks nine times, it will snow. If it barks ten times, wealth will be found. After that, there is no need to examine the barking. Regarding the goodness or badness of dreams: Finding turquoise, building a stupa, wearing a new hat, wearing ornaments, singing from the top of a mountain, blowing a conch shell, riding a good horse uphill, and the sun rising are all good signs. Finding coral, cutting down trees, wearing shoes, darkness falling and going downhill, being chased by wild animals, and digging holes in the ground are all bad signs. In particular, dreaming of gold and silver is a stumbling block to accomplishing tasks. Dreaming of garlic, onions, barley, and black beans is a sign of bad interpersonal relationships. Dreaming of water and hail is a sign of being bewitched. Dreaming of white or red wool, snow, etc., means you must go on a journey. Dreaming of goats, sheep, mules, etc., is a sign of a wandering soul.

Immediately after waking up, one should recite the Mani (藏文：མ་ཎི་，梵文天城體：मणि，梵文羅馬擬音：maṇi，汉语字面意思：Mani). If one dreams of foxes, wolves, etc., it indicates the presence of evil spirits, so exorcism rituals should be performed. Furthermore, dreaming of being naked, going to unfamiliar places, picking red flowers, riding a donkey southward, dancing with the dead, having trees growing on one's body, or being chased by black people and having one's body cut into pieces, climbing sand mountains, etc., are all omens of death. Moreover, obvious omens of death include: not being able to smell incense, seeing the city of Gandharvas (藏文：དྲི་ཟ，梵文天城體：गन्धर्व，梵文羅馬擬音：gandharva，汉语字面意思：Gandharva), the image of the sky being incomplete, not hearing the sound of snapping fingers, breaking when using finger joints to support the eyebrows and looking at the sky, flies circling the body, carrion birds chasing and showing joy, lice that were previously present disappearing, lice that were absent appearing, slurred speech, and changes in personality are all omens of death. In particular, seeing lice growing on the body indicates that the person will die within a year. If one loses nine dou (a unit of volume) of nasal blood not due to illness, the person will die within three years. If a patient receives treatment that is contrary to their condition and seems to improve slightly, it is said to be an omen of death. Next, the methods for prolonging life and alleviating illness are taught: Performing ransom rituals can prolong life. In particular, sewing one's own clothes with a small portion of wool from a sheep ransomed in a life-ransom ritual has great significance in terms of auspicious connections. After that, one should not arbitrarily shear the sheep's wool but should provide grass, water, and whatever else is available. Making Tsatsas (small clay stupas), making them according to the number of years of age, and then placing them in the four directions. Reciting the "White Umbrella Sutra" twenty-one times, reciting the "Golden Light Sutra" and the "Five Great Dharanis," etc., especially reciting these sutras at night, is said to become a great pacifying ritual. In addition, taking one's own nasal blood, or blood from a small wound, or blood from a bloodletting, etc., whichever is available, and mixing it into an effigy each year, and then throwing the effigy in the direction where the five ghosts are, it is said that one will rarely get sick within a year and it will become a great pacifying ritual. Furthermore, if a patient has a severe illness, the monastic community blowing conch shells and striking the Ghandi (a percussion instrument) will be helpful. In this regard, one can examine the sound of the conch shell: if it initially sounds like "Ah," it indicates that the illness will be cured quickly; if it sounds like "Ooh," it indicates that the illness will last a long time; if it sounds like "Bhuh," it indicates that death will come quickly. In general, the sound of the conch shell is good.
