Through it, one can attain enlightenment. As stated in the "Entering the Middle Way": Just as a group of blind people are easily led by a sighted person to the place they desire, so too, through the wisdom mind, one obtains the qualities that the blind lack, and becomes a victor. And as stated in the "Compendium": By fully knowing the nature of all phenomena through wisdom, one will truly transcend the entirety of the three realms. And as stated in the "Hundred Verses on Wisdom": These visible and invisible qualities, the root of all is wisdom. Therefore, in order to accomplish both, one should fully embrace wisdom. And: If the darkness is not dispelled by the light of wisdom, one will not become one who possesses pure ethics. Most ethics without wisdom become tainted with afflictions due to the fault of knowledge. If the mind is disturbed by the fault of excellent wisdom, the quality of patience will not abide in it. Holding a manner that dislikes discriminating between good and bad, it is like a king without qualities who has fame. And as stated in the "Compendium": Without wisdom, these five non-objective perfections, because they are non-objective, cannot touch enlightenment. When wisdom fully grasps them, then one gains sight and obtains its name. And as stated in the "Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life": All these limbs, the Able One has said, are for the sake of wisdom. Therefore, those who desire to pacify suffering should cultivate wisdom. Thus it is said. The wisdom referred to here is not worldly wisdom such as medicine, grammar, logic, and crafts. It is not the wisdom of hearers and solitary realizers who understand their own aggregates as impure, suffering, impermanent, and selfless. The wisdom in this context refers to the wisdom that realizes all phenomena as emptiness. As stated in the "Seven Hundred Prajñāpāramitā": What is it to know that all phenomena are unborn? That is the Perfection of Wisdom. And as stated in the "Compendium": Those who fully know that phenomena are without inherent existence, this is the practice of the supreme Perfection of Wisdom. And as stated in the "Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment": The wisdom that understands the aggregates, elements, and sense bases as unborn, the emptiness of their own nature, is what is fully explained as wisdom. Thus it is said. The benefit of meditating on such wisdom of emptiness is:

In the Twenty-five Thousand Verse Prajnaparamita, it says: Even if one meditates on the Prajnaparamita for only a short time, the merit of that Bodhisattva Mahasattva will greatly increase. If one were to establish all the sentient beings in the three thousand great thousand world systems in generosity, discipline, meditation, wisdom, liberation, the vision of the wisdom of liberation, the fruit of stream-entry, the fruit of once-returning, the fruit of non-returning, the state of Arhatship, and even establish them in the state of solitary enlightenment, it would not equal the increase in merit gained from meditating on this profound Prajnaparamita for only a short time! Also, in the Sutra Showing Suchness, it says: Shariputra, rather than listening to the Dharma for one kalpa, it is more meritorious to meditate on the Samadhi of Suchness for even a short time. Shariputra, therefore, this Samadhi of Suchness should be diligently taught to others. Shariputra, all the Bodhisattvas who have been prophesied to become Buddhas abide solely in this Samadhi. Also, in the Great Enlightenment Extensive Sutra, it says: To enter into meditation for a moment is more meaningful than giving one's life to all beings in the three realms. Also, in the Great Crown Sutra, it says: Rather than hearing and contemplating for many kalpas, it is more meritorious to contemplate the meaning of the Dharma for one day. Why? Because it leads one far away from the path of birth and death. Also, in the Sutra of Entering into Faith, it says: Rather than accumulating all the necessities for the lifetime of sentient beings in the three realms, it is more meritorious for a yogi to meditate on emptiness for one session. Also, in the Ten Wheels Sutra of Earth Essence, it says: Rather than writing, reading, listening, explaining, and reciting the Dharma for a kalpa, it is more powerful to meditate for one day. It is also said that meditating on the meaning of emptiness is superior to meditating on deities and reciting mantras.
