It is called Thongwa. From the Sutra of the Samadhi of the Four Boys: By what emptiness does one know emptiness, and does not even mind emptiness, those who do not see emptiness, they are the ones who know emptiness. By what can one know that Dharma well, then in that one will not find self, in what one does not find self, therefore where does suffering arise? There is no taking near to emptiness, nor is it the attainment of signs, Teaching the Dharma of no-self, is the son born from the heart of the Buddha. From the lineage that is inconceivable to knowledge and thought, the ultimate of all Dharmas, is the realm where there is no inherent abiding. With a mind without views, one will see the Mahamudra. Thus it is said. From Klongsal: The way of abiding of the cause of the nature of things, the essence is empty and the nature is clear, compassion can appear to all, self-illuminating without effort, from the very beginning it is naturally abiding. From the general aspect of emptiness, it is free from the extreme of permanence, from the aspect of clarity, it is free from the extreme of annihilation, from the state of clarity and emptiness, it is free from grasping, the primordial purity is clear, empty, and pervasive. Thus it is said. Orgyen Rinpoche said: The common view of Dharma, the view of self-meaning, the view of the unsurpassed Ati. First, the common view of Dharma is to know the differences of the various vehicles. The view of self-meaning is that although the names of views are countless, the view is the nature of knowable things, free from the three of arising, ceasing, and abiding, free from permanence, annihilation, coming, and going, The essence is emptiness, the nature is clear, the appearance is unceasing, emptiness while being clear, clarity while being empty, this is what cannot be expressed in words, the essence of emptiness that is free from the extremes of object and subject, free from acceptance and examination is the view of this Dharma. Furthermore, the view of the unsurpassed Ati is that when looking at the appearance of the six external objects, the appearance is without inherent nature like a mirage, when looking at the nature of the inner Dharma, realizing that all is empty in nature is like the sky, the secret is seen as the manifestation of self-awareness, liberated from the view of mental discrimination and grasping, it is the very truth of the view that is without confusion in the three times of past, present, and future. Thus it is said. From the Mother of the Conquerors: Whether the Tathagatas appear or do not appear, the Dharmata of all Dharmas and the abiding nature of Dharma, and the faultless nature of Dharma, that is the Tathagata. Thus it is said. From the Vinaya Source: Buddha

Although the Buddhas have come, or have not come, in all cases, this Dharma-nature that is never interrupted, exists beyond increase and decrease. As it says in the Root Tantra of Kalachakra: The mind-nature of sentient beings is luminous, from the very beginning it is free from arising, ceasing, and abiding, from the beginningless beginning, it is the first supreme Buddha, unpolluted by causeless conditions. As it says in the Net of Illusion: The nature of all dharmas is luminous, from forbearance it is pure and without defilement. There are no sentient beings, and there is no life. There is no Buddha, and there is no enlightenment. As it says in the Uttaratantra: The nature of mind is luminous, whatever it is, it is immutable like the sky. Desires and so on arising from unreal understanding, do not become afflicted by sudden stains. As it says in the Nirvana Sutra: What is called the Buddha-nature, is the luminous nature of mind. Emptiness! The ultimate emptiness is wisdom. What is called emptiness, is not seeing either emptiness or non-emptiness. As it says in the Ratnagotravibhāga: By nature, it is unconditioned, there is no birth, and there is no destruction. It does not abide in that, but is liberated from the three characteristics. For all dharmas, there is no grasping, and there is no intense grasping. There is nothing to be taken, and nothing to be abandoned. The Buddha touches enlightenment. As it says in the Tantra of the Great Compassionate One, the Essence Gathered: The view of the Great Compassionate One is, appearance and mind are primordially inseparable, without extremes, naturally liberated, without attachment. Self-luminous, ungraspable, completely pure. As it says in the Highest Tantra of the View of the Great Compassionate One: The view of the Great Compassionate One is uncorrected, because the mind is separated from the base and root. As it says in the Supreme Tantra of the View of the Great Compassionate One: Dharma-nature is primordially uncorrected, its nature abides as the basis of both samsara and nirvana. As it says in the Mind Tantra spoken by the Great Compassionate One to Songtsen Gampo (reigned c. 617-650): The meaning of all dharmas, is contained in the inexpressible Dharma-nature, the reality of meaning, the Suchness that abides uncorrected and naturally. As it says in the Don Trig Drowa Kundrol Tantra: The self-mind possessing the two truths, does not arise, does not abide, does not go,
