The order of stages, even until the end of the eon, is that one should abandon distractions and practice meditation. Just the appearance of the Lama in the center of one's own mind is more powerful than twenty kotis of offerings. Furthermore, from the Kalachakra: "In all three times of the eon, one makes offerings to the Three Jewels, and protects the lives of hundreds of thousands of beings, but one will not attain Buddhahood in this life. If one makes offerings with a devoted mind to the Lama, the ocean of qualities, then the supreme and common accomplishments will be attained in this very life." Furthermore, from the Praise of Names: "Worthy of offerings, worthy of praise, the place of prostration, worthy of being constantly kept in mind, the supreme one worthy of reverence and speech, the best of Lamas, worthy of prostration." Furthermore, from the Two Analyses: "The co-emergent wisdom not spoken by others, cannot be found elsewhere either. It is known through the Lama's skillful means of teaching and through one's own merit." Furthermore, from the Vajra Tent: "Therefore, he is called Vajradhara, because he is perceived as the form of the teacher. Focusing on benefiting sentient beings, he dwells in the manner of an ordinary person." Furthermore, from the Sutra of the Salty River: "In the final five hundred years, I will come in the form of a teacher. Think of me as the teacher, and at that time, generate respect for him." Furthermore, in the Ati Arrangement: "That Lama who is endowed with kindness, who is meditated upon in the center of the heart and on the crown of the head, and in the palms of the hands, that person will hold the qualities of a thousand Buddhas." Furthermore, from the Magical Net: "How should one view the teacher? The Lama is equal to all the Buddhas. He is always Vajradhara. He is the Tathagata Jewel Peak. He is the ocean of wisdom, like a wish-fulfilling jewel." Furthermore, from the Source of Vows: "The Lama is the Buddha, the Lama is the Dharma, the Lama is also the Sangha, the Lama is the glorious Vajradhara, the Lama is the maker of all." Furthermore, from the Accomplishment of Wisdom: "Whoever has the kindness of the Lama, will attain the supreme accomplishment. The Lama is the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha. Knowing such kindness, the Lama is superior to the Three Jewels." Furthermore, from the Vajra Garland: "The Lama and Vajradhara should not be seen as different." Furthermore, in the Inconceivable Appearance: "These sentient beings do not know, and out of compassion for them, the guiding Dharma is taught."
