Therefore, during this time, the root of virtue will not be exhausted; even a small virtue, if increased through dedication, will grow daily, becoming a great virtue. Therefore, from the Vajra verses, one verse of dedication is spoken, and its explanation is given by the Great Compassionate One: 'Thus, the virtue of taking refuge, I dedicate to all mother-like sentient beings of the six realms.' To explain its meaning in detail: In the Sutra Requested by Sagacious Ocean, it says: 'Just as a drop of water falls into the great ocean, it will not be exhausted until the ocean is depleted. Similarly, the virtue completely dedicated to Bodhi will not be exhausted until Bodhi is attained.' And in the Array of Manjushri's Land it says: 'All phenomena are according to conditions, abiding supremely at the peak of aspiration. Whatever prayers one makes, the results will occur accordingly.' And in the Sutra of the Vajra Banner it says: 'Whatever merit all beings possess, and whatever exists in the ten directions of the world, by perfectly accomplishing the root of virtue, may that wisdom and skillfulness of benefiting and bringing happiness to all beings be completely dedicated.' And in the Sutra of the Practices and Aspirations of Samantabhadra, it also says: 'The eldest of all the Buddhas' sons, whose name is Samantabhadra, in order to practice like that wise one, may all these virtues be completely dedicated.' From 'completely dedicating for the sake of Samantabhadra's practice' to the end. In the Twenty-Five Thousand Verse Perfection of Wisdom Sutra, the immeasurable benefits of dedication are explained, summarized as follows: All sentient beings of the three thousand great thousand worlds, having obtained the ten virtues and the four concentrations, as well as the four immeasurables and the five superknowledges, if the virtue is dedicated to Bodhi, the merit is greater; all sentient beings of the three thousand realms, having attained the stream-enterer, once-returner, non-returner, and Arhat fruits, and having made great offerings to them, the merit is still less than dedicating the virtue to Bodhi; all sentient beings of the three thousand great thousand worlds becoming Pratyekabuddhas, making great offerings to them is still less than dedicating the virtue to Bodhi; all sentient beings of the three thousand great thousand worlds becoming Bodhisattvas, to the ten directions of the worl

Even if each grain of sand in the Ganges River represents a world, and bodhisattvas in each of those worlds receive abundant offerings and veneration, dedicating the roots of virtue to enlightenment and increasing them is said to be even more meritorious. Such a vast dedication is one that dedicates without focusing on the three spheres (agent, object, and action). As the Ornament for Clear Realization states: "Dedication is supremely special, its action is supreme, it is of a non-objective nature, its characteristic is non-perversion." And as the Compendium states: "That to which one dedicates will be exhausted, and that by which one dedicates will also be exhausted. If one knows that one never dedicates to the nature of phenomena, such a dedication is a dedication to enlightenment." Furthermore, as asked in the Ocean of Intelligence Sutra: "Even if bodhisattvas accumulate much virtue, if they do not dedicate it to omniscience, they will not even obtain the name of pāramitā; they will only be counted among the roots of virtue. When they dedicate it to omniscience, then they will obtain the name of pāramitā. Therefore, whatever virtue

If there is attachment, then it is not dedicating to Bodhi; if there is no attachment, then it is dedicating to Bodhi. Thus it is said. The Vajradhvaja Sutra says: How is the nature of Suchness, how is the essence of Suchness, how is the characteristic of Suchness, in that way, all actions are completely dedicated. Thus it is said. The Dense Array Sutra says: Like mani jewels, crystals, and fire crystals, when touched by the light of the sun and moon, each of these produces its own qualities. Likewise, this Alaya consciousness, if dedicated to the realm of the Sugata-garbha, will produce fruit. Thus it is said. Therefore, it is best to dedicate within the state of practicing emptiness; the intermediate should also dedicate within the state of practicing as illusion and dream-like, not establishing reality. If one cannot do that, one should also dedicate with a single-pointed intention, thinking that this virtue is also dedicated in the same way as the Bodhisattvas abiding on the great earth and the Buddhas of the three times have dedicated, because the Sutra of the Three Aggregates says: How the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, of the past have completely dedicated, etc. Thus it is said. The practice of generation and completion stage of secret mantra, recitation, and tsok offerings, etc., are very important to seal with dedication, because the Tantra of the Origin of Vows says: Then, right in front of the mandala, with palms joined at the heart, the benefactor should make aspirations, and make a complete dedication. Thus it is said. The Secret Union Bindu Tantra says: Having made the vajra mudra, placing it at one's own heart, focusing on all sentient beings, one should make prayers. Thus it is said. Orgyen Rinpoche said: The accumulated merit and its fruit, dedication and dedications, etc., having fully known their selflessness, is the unsurpassed supreme dedication. Thus it is said. To deities or lamas, etc., in front of the Three Jewels and supports, accumulating merit with intention and faith, one should make vast prayers, the qualities of which are beyond words. Thus it is said. At times such as the eighth and fifteenth, one should dedicate roots of virtue in front of the Three Jewels. Thus it is said. Therefore, visualize clearly the refuge field mentioned earlier in the space in front, and in those places, the merit of listening to the Dharma, and the merit of receiving the vows of taking refuge, and also the root of virtue of taking refuge now.
