In the Sutra of the Fortunate Ones, the faults of non-virtue are extensively discussed. Now, to explain it in a slightly condensed manner: There are ten faults of killing: creating enmity in this life; enmity following in future lives; many people not trusting; seeing sinful dreams; fear arising in oneself; sentient beings also fearing it; even sleeping peacefully, waking up in suffering; always thinking of sin; dying in a state of delusion; being born in hell after death; and if reborn as a human, being short-lived and having many diseases. There are ten faults of taking what is not given: becoming a great enemy; becoming very cautious; acting out of time; acting in times of conflict; being seized by sinful friends; being abandoned by virtuous friends; violating moral conduct; being harmed by the king; being harmed by thieves; being harmed by punishment; going to bad destinies after death; even if reborn as a human, becoming poor; having to work hard to obtain possessions; and even the possessions obtained through hard work are subject to five harms: being consumed by the king, thieves, fire, water, and hidden things. There are ten faults of sexual misconduct: generating enmity; non-virtue increasing; virtue decreasing; oneself becoming unpeaceful; sons and wives not being protected; wealth and hidden things not being protected; family and hidden things not being protected; life and hidden things not being protected; friends, relatives, and retinue being displeased; going to bad destinies after death; even if reborn as a human, being born as a woman and finding a husband with rivals. There are ten faults of lying: pus smelling from the mouth; the gods of the body departing; non-humans finding an opportunity; even speaking the truth, not being believed; even when there is a need, not thinking to ask him; bad reputation spreading widely; not being worthy of respect; being miserable and unhappy; going to bad destinies after death; and ultimately, even if reborn as a human, often being spoken ill of. These are the ones.

This is how one experiences the ripening of negative actions in this life and the next. To summarize the results of power, as stated by masters like Nagarjuna: Killing leads to rebirth in a land that is inauspicious and of low splendor; taking what is not given leads to rebirth in a land with much hail; engaging in sexual misconduct leads to rebirth in a land with much damp soil; lying leads to rebirth in a place with an unpleasant smell; divisive speech leads to rebirth in a land with uneven terrain; harsh speech leads to rebirth in a land that is hot and arid, and full of wickedness; idle chatter leads to rebirth in a land where summer and winter are reversed; covetousness leads to rebirth in a land with poor crops; harmful intent leads to rebirth in a land with bitter and rough food; wrong views lead to rebirth in a land without crops. Thus it is said. Thus, if one engages in the ten non-virtuous actions on one's own, there are such faults. However, if one engages in them with a great awakening mind, or if one is seized by special tantric methods, there is no fault and there are even times when benefits arise. In the past, when the Bhagavan was a merchant, he killed the black demon with a short spear in order to save the lives of five hundred people, thereby completing the accumulation of merit. When Orgyen Rinpoche was young, he killed the evil son of a minister who was destined to die within seven days and go to Avici hell, and transferred his consciousness to a pure land. The Nirvana Sutra says: In the past, there was only one Dharma-speaking monk in Jambudvipa. If he were to die, the Dharma would decline. A wicked king was about to kill the Dharma-speaking monk, so he sent an army. A brave and powerful man killed many soldiers to protect the monk. By the merit of protecting the monk's life, that man was born in the Buddha Akshobhya's pure land and became a Bodhisattva. When the Bhagavan was a boy named Karma, although he had renounced the world, he engaged in household activities for twelve years, motivated by the mind of enlightenment, and thus gained great merit. In all the tantras of the new and old secret mantras, it is said that a yogi who has gained control over the channels and winds can attain the state of a great Vajradhara in one lifetime and one body by relying on a consort with the characteristics of a Dakini. In the Hevajra Tantra, it is said: This excellent consort
