Therefore, Buddhahood is not attained through (gradual) stages. They believe that one must enter mantra practice from the eighth bhumi onwards. Similarly, they believe that the attainment of Vajradhara in the thirteen deities of the New Tantras and the Buddhahood of Dzogchen are the same in meaning. Even if one attains the Vajradhara state of the New Secret Mantras, they still believe that one must traverse the bhumis and paths as taught in Dzogchen. There are many discussions about whether or not a Buddha has wisdom, and about dividing the Buddha's body into two, three, four, five, or six bodies. However, Gyalwa Odten Wangpo said, "Don't value the result, value the cause." As he said, if one practices the path without error, one will surely attain the result without error. Therefore, much debate and discussion now is of little importance. Previously, someone asked a Kagyu lama, "Does a Buddha have wisdom in the Buddha-ground, or not?" He replied, "I have not become a Buddha." Like this example, it seems difficult to understand with only a dry understanding of one side of the tantras. However, the great accomplished Paki, who vowed to attain Buddhahood in one lifetime through the union of Mahamudra and Dzogchen, said: "The reality is Samantabhadra, the realm of Dharma, Dzogchen Atiyoga, Transcends all vehicles, Even the sixteen bhumis and paths, In the truly meaningful Akanishta, From the beginning, all is naturally perfect." And said: "In the reality of the Great Perfection, Ignorance and self-awareness become wisdom, Merely realizing, attaining, and perfecting the characteristics, The qualities are equal to Samantabhadra." And said: "The highest faculties at once, Self-awareness, all-awareness, manifest Buddhahood, Knowing all and seeing all, In the nature of space, there is no effort, The form body is equal to the number of beings to be tamed." And said: "If it is not self-born wisdom, The ground, path, and result have never been accomplished, The nature of perfection is gathered in one place, In the truly meaningful Akanishta, The Lord of all, the Buddha himself dwells, The ocean of omniscient wisdom, Is the Buddha who has never been confused." And said: "Those who attain at once, Realization and attainment are simultaneous Samantabhadra, Whether traversing or not traversing the bhumis and paths, Also pervading all of samsara and nirvana, The twenty-one bhumis and paths, In the truly meaningful Akanishta, All perfection is gathered in one." These words are very clear. The meaning of these words is explained in "Klong gsal": "Thus, the qualities and results are attained, The Buddha without birth or death, The Nirvana without passing away, The truly enlightened Buddha manifests as"

When manifesting as Buddha, it is Buddha. The emanations also increase. Wisdom and awareness dissolve into their natural state. The five lights dissolve into their natural state. Emptiness and clarity are unceasing, each manifesting its own essence. Thus it is said. In the profound tantra of the Lotus: Of the wisdom of emptiness by nature, not even the slightest stain remains. Called the Dharmakaya, it is free from stain. The Bodhisattva appears as the Sambhogakaya. According to the thoughts of beings, what appears to all is the Nirmanakaya. The three bodies are inseparable, the body of great bliss. Thus it is said. In the tantra of the Lotus King: Bliss and emptiness appear as one. The fruit is called union. Thus it is said. Also, in the tantra of the Heart Essence Gathering: The fruit of great compassion is the mind that abides in its own place, without hope or fear. The Dharmakaya is without birth or death. Spontaneously accomplished, unchanging, it is decisive. Thus it is said. In the tantra of the View of Yangthog: The fruit is not to be cultivated, not to be intentionally cultivated. In the state of non-distraction, naturally, naturally, nakedly. Thus it is said. In the Noble Golden Light Sutra: The Dharmakaya is to be regarded as true and perfect wisdom. The two bodies are merely designations. The Dharmakaya is true, it is the basis of the two bodies. Why is that? Because apart from the Dharmata and non-conceptual wisdom, there is no other Buddha. Thus it is said. Just as images appear in the sun and moon, water, and mirrors, although the wisdom of Suchness is without concepts, by the power of aspiration, for fortunate beings, it accomplishes benefit through the two form bodies. Thus it is said. In the Stainless Light: It is not impermanent, nor is it permanent. It is not the nature of one, nor of many. It is not existent, nor is it non-existent. This is the Dharmakaya of dependent origination. Whatever is the sound of all beings, the nature of miraculous power manifests very clearly. By the power of the thoughts of beings, it is the nature of the Sambhogakaya. Thus it is said. In the Accomplishment Garland: The body endowed with all excellent qualities, from various kinds of faith, the nature of the emanation is what beings see according to their own thoughts. Thus it is said. In the Kalachakra: Emptiness and compassion are inseparable, abandoning attachment and non-attachment. It is neither wisdom nor skillful means. This is the Svabhavikakaya. Known as the Kalachakra, it is the nature of the four bodies, peaceful. Thus it is said. In the Avatamsaka Sutra: The Dharma King, the Dharmata, is Manjushri.
