Due to not realizing, countless sectarian views arise. This is because ordinary beings do not realize, do not know their own nature, so they wander in the three realms and experience suffering. This is also the fault of not realizing one's own mind, clinging outwardly to heretical views, falling into the extremes of permanence and annihilation, and being confused and inverted. This is also the fault of not realizing one's own mind, in the immeasurable places of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, although they wish to attain realization, they do not realize it as it is. Furthermore, each one's own scriptures and sectarian views, being bound by their own desires, obscure the clear light and are obscured. Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas are obscured by the clinging to the grasped and the grasper. Madhyamikas are obscured by clinging to the extremes of the two truths. Kriya Yoga is obscured by clinging to the extremes of approach and accomplishment. Maha Anu Yoga is obscured by clinging to emptiness and awareness. Clinging to duality in the meaning of non-duality is a mistake. If non-duality is not unified, one will not attain Buddhahood. Everything is one's own mind, samsara and nirvana are inseparable, and by discriminating between abandoning and adopting, rejecting and accepting, one wanders in samsara. Thus it is said. In Gangamala it is said: Reciting mantras and the Prajnaparamita, as well as the Vinaya Pitaka, Sutra Pitaka, Abhidhamma Pitaka, etc., each one's own scriptures and sectarian views, will not allow one to see the clear light Mahamudra. Because of the arising of desire, the clear light is obscured. Guarding vows with conceptual thoughts diminishes their meaning. Not paying attention, being free from all desires, self-born, self-pacified, like a writing on water. Not abiding, not fixating, not deviating from the meaning, then the vows are not broken, it is a lamp in the darkness. If one is free from all desires and does not abide in extremes, then all the Dharma of the Tripitaka will be seen completely. Thus it is said. So, why are there so many mistakes? This is because the innate wisdom of self-awareness, the Great Perfection, is not realized. If one skillfully recognizes the face of Trekchö of the Great Perfection, then all mistakes will be cut off at once. As it is said in the Definitive Meaning Gathering: Like the sun rising without the obscuration of darkness, realizing the meaning of the self-born Dharmakaya, then mistakes, obscurations, objects, and mind are purified from the root, all dharmas are indestructible, it is the Body of Enlightenment. Thus it is said. In the vast expanse of space, in the self-nature of awareness, do not meditate on anything, right now, do not grasp at concepts, the clear light of wisdom is unobstructed and flawless. Thus it is said. In that same text it says: Not following arising sensations, one will not err in the place of ordinary worldly people. Because the consciousness of the five senses is not extinguished, one will not err in non-conceptuality. Holding the meaning of profound wisdom, then...

If it is not pointed out, one will not err; if one does not cling to the taste of calm abiding, one will not err in the samadhi of mind-fixation; if one does not cultivate the realm of existence and non-existence, one will not fall into the extremes of permanence and annihilation; if one does not abandon conceptual thought but lets it subside on its own, one will not fall into the cessation of the Hearers; if one does not cultivate emptiness where conceptual thought ceases, one will not fall into the mind of the Solitary Realizers; if one does not cultivate self-awareness for a moment, one will not fall into the Madhyamaka of duality; if one does not cultivate the samadhi of the four joys, one will not fall into the Kriya Vehicle; if one does not cultivate the wisdom of the Dharmata realm, the pride of miraculous deities, the five enlightenments, one will not fall into the mind of Yoga; if one does not cultivate the aggregates, elements, and sense bases, the many names of conceptual thought, conceptual thought as deities, one will not fall into Mahayoga; in the completely pure space of the sky, the great bliss of non-duality, the play of awareness, without gathering and scattering, without mental fabrication, one will not fall into Anuyoga. Thus it is said. Although this has clarified all the essential points, to make it a little easier to understand, if one follows after whatever conceptual thoughts arise in the mind, accumulating virtuous and non-virtuous actions, one will fall into being an ordinary person. Therefore, by looking at the nature of conceptual thought, letting it subside on its own, and not following after it, one can avoid this. If one thinks that it is not good for conceptual thoughts to arise in the mind, and one stops conceptual thoughts, causing nothing to move in the mind, and one does not know how to look at its nature, and the five senses are not clear, one will fall into the dullness of calm abiding. Therefore, do not deliberately stop the movement, but look at the nature of whatever arises. If there is no thought in the mind, and one does not see one's own nature, but just stays relaxed, one will fall into a state of non-virtue. Therefore, without being distracted, look at one's own nature. Even if one does not see one's own nature, the gross thoughts do not move, and the joy and bliss of the mind focused on one point fills the whole body, like a bright lamp that is not moved by the wind. If one becomes attached to it, even a tiny attachment will bind one, causing one not to see the wisdom of insight. This is because from top to bottom, the conceptual thoughts of grasping at characteristics become larger and larger, and one will fall into the first, second, third, and fourth dhyanas. Therefore, the samadhi is unmoving, like a calm ocean that is not moved by the wind, whatever arises, whether it is bright, blissful, or clear, without clinging to it, but directly looking at its own nature, one can clearly see that the nature of calm abiding is emptiness. By separately realizing that calm abiding and insight are non-dual, one can avoid falling into
