It is said that the channels are like tangled roots and branches, but they need to be purified, liberated, and practiced. If you meditate on the channels in this way, the flow of wind, mind, and bindu will become flawed, and there is a risk of encountering obstacles and straying into wrong paths. Therefore, meditating on the central channel alone is the most profound here. Even practicing the single channel, it should be summarized as having the same meaning as the central channel, and this practice is the most profound. Regarding the central channel, some believe that there is the central channel of means (གཞུང་པ།), the central channel of wisdom, the life force (སྲོག་རྩ།), and that there is a central channel of wisdom between the two; some believe that it exists within the life force; some believe that it exists in the gap of the life force; some believe that it exists now and disappears after death, and so on. Although there are many explanations in the tantras and by various great accomplished ones, the complexities of refutation and establishment are omitted. According to this tradition, for this impure body formed by the maturation of karma, the central channel that needs to be purified is the black life force itself. Then, one might wonder, does this contradict the statement that there is no blood, etc.? This is the central channel of wisdom, which resides in that life force. Here, by taking the object to be purified as merely the object of meditation, and then meditating on the purifying central channel of wisdom, the result of purification, the Vajra Body, will be accomplished. Therefore, meditate only on the central channel. Moreover, the reason for initially meditating on a short central channel at the navel is that when the body is first formed, in the center of the navel's manifestation wheel, there is a supreme channel called the "Bull's Eye," which is like the eye of a doe, and which generates the bliss-emptiness warmth from the female genitalia. This is the center of all channels, and it gradually and sequentially generates more of the body, hence it is called the central channel. Correspondingly, here too, one meditates on a short central channel at the navel. Then, one might wonder, is it reasonable to meditate on a short central channel, which is inconsistent with the way the Vajra Body is accomplished, and to meditate only on the central channel without meditating on the single channel and other chakras, etc.? Although the words and the object of meditation are different, the meaning is actually consistent. In the instruction manuals of the great accomplished ones of the past, it is also said that the ends of the body, even the fingers, should be visualized as being pervaded by the central channel. By meditating in this way, no matter where the wind stays in the channel, it will generate qualities and not generate faults; this is the oral transmission of secret instructions. Similarly, it is said that the central channel of wisdom pervades all appearances, existences, samsara, and nirvana, because the central channel of wisdom is the Vajra Body of all Buddhas.

It is the wheel of inexhaustible adornment. Therefore, it is only as a support for meditation that the life force of the body is called the central channel. Nowadays, some people exercise to make their abdomen flat, and when they see thick veins, they marvel, "The central channel has been erected." In reality, the name "central channel" is given to an important channel that can control the entry and exit of wind and bindu in secret practice. How can that be compared to the central channel of supreme wisdom? It is also evident that this is not an impure central channel that needs to be purified, because neither the main channel nor the black life channel can be seen due to the flatness of the abdomen. Therefore, if one boasts of it as the central channel, it is clearly a statement made without having seen any of the supreme tantra commentaries. After generating the above understanding, the actual object of meditation is: Here, even if one practices emptiness of inherent existence through Svabhava (Tibetan: སྭ་བྷ་ཝ, Sanskrit Devanagari: स्वभाव, Sanskrit Romanization: svabhāva, Chinese literal meaning: self-nature) or Shunyata (Tibetan: ཤུ་ནྱ་ཏ, Sanskrit Devanagari: शून्यता, Sanskrit Romanization: śūnyatā, Chinese literal meaning: emptiness), it is acceptable. If there is a good understanding of the view, then if one knows that all phenomena are empty of their own nature, then mantras are not necessary. Transform yourself into the Bhagavan Great Compassionate Wrathful One, destroying and devouring all unfavorable factors to be abandoned. The body color is like a ruby or coral, blazing like the essence of the sun, possessing three eyes, with the face slightly open, presenting a peaceful and wrathful demeanor with a smile. The two feet stand in a posture of establishing wisdom, with a soft and swaying stance. The two hands, the right hand holding the heart as a symbol of obtaining the essence and core of existence and non-existence, and holding two red meaningful lassos as a symbol of quickly obtaining the fruit of meaning. The left hand shakes a hand drum, symbolizing awakening from the sleep of carelessness, and advancing the stages of the path in every moment. The body is naked, possessing various wrathful aspects such as charnel ground attire. As a symbol of burning the armies of obstructing demons, residing in the center of a blazing fire of self-luminous bliss and warmth. Among these, one face is the sole Dharmakaya, two hands are skillful means and wisdom, two feet are the two truths, three eyes are the three kayas, four fangs are the subduing of the four maras, the body color is red, cherishing beings with compassion, not stained by the mud of samsara, hence the lotus seat, dispelling the darkness of beings, hence the solar seat, perfecting the ten powers, hence the ten great glories, purifying the lineage of the assembly, hence the eight charnel ground attires, and so on.
