Maintain an equal state. Do not correct with the wisdom of expecting clarity, do not have clear discriminations, let the discriminations of peaceful abiding like trees fall downwards, and do not fall into the clinging discriminations of having practiced or not practiced. In reality, let the essence abide in its own self-knowing awareness, just slightly close to it. If it does not abide, let it go where it goes. For example, even if a lion displays various skills, it will not go beyond the range of the snow mountains; even if the sun shines throughout the world, it will not go beyond the sun's sphere when it is old; no matter how a fish swims, it will not leave the water; just as a crow in the ocean, no matter how it flies, will not go beyond the island. No matter how many scattered thoughts arise, they will not go beyond the nature of mind itself. Therefore, just remember the essence of non-abiding with mindfulness, and if you can relax in that state without being bound by good or bad discriminations, then non-abiding itself is the great abiding. As it is said: Do not suppress it like the Shravakas, do not follow after signs like ordinary people, and do not cling to the taste of samadhi like eternalists. In reality, let the uncorrected essence abide naturally and genuinely. As it is said: The essence is empty and clear, the nature is clear and naked, the power is unconstrained and relaxed, and the state where clarity, awareness, and emptiness abide naturally is the flawless Great Seal. Practice accordingly. If you practice diligently in this way, then the realization of the superior as sudden, the intermediate as leap-over, and the inferior as gradual will arise. As it is said in the Treasury: Although the nature of mind is one, the characteristics of mind are different, and there are three types of faculties: superior, intermediate, and inferior. Among them, the superior is divided into the very superior and the superior. The very superior, as it is said in "Vastness of Space": For the sake of those with superior faculties, just pointing it out is enough to realize it, one drop of essence is the Dharmakaya, and just by knowing, one is certain to attain Buddhahood. Thus it is said. The superior is liberated just by abiding in the meaning of realization. As it is said in "Vastness of Wisdom": If one can immediately merge into it in the moment of realizing one's own mind, then there is no long or short duration of practice, and there is no thought of when it will be accomplished. Thus it is said. In "Union of Wind and Mind": The superior arises suddenly, without sequence, and everything is in the nature of Dharma. Thus it is said. The intermediate, as it is said in "Lamp of Practice": The practice of leap-over is uncertain, some attain the ultimate from abiding, and some are unmoving, in equanimity.

Abode. Ultimately, it possesses complete qualities and virtues. Some do not attain the abode at first. Experiences and signs of warmth vary in degree. There is no fixed order to ultimate completion. Some arise in order, while sometimes there are those who arise by transcending the order. It is said that if those who transcend the order are diligent, they will greatly benefit and generate supreme realization. If their diligence is weak, they will not even reach the beginning of Dharma and will become ordinary individuals. As for the gradual arising at the end, Garab Dorje said, "The samadhi of abiding in the first place, the second is immovability, the third becomes equality, and the fourth is the spontaneous accomplishment of wisdom." It is said. The first of these is called Mahamudra One-Pointedness. It is called the samadhi of abiding through Trekchö of Dzogchen. From the general scriptures, it is called the samadhi of the Lion's Playful Poise. For example, when a lion assumes a playful poise, just as it looks back at its own body, one looks back at one's own mind. This is secret and inconceivable, and in the Tantra of the Great River, it says, "Through the samadhi of the Lion's Playful Poise, unwavering one-pointedness and the mother's wisdom are clear." It is said that abiding one-pointedly in the essence of mind, which is blissful, clear, and non-conceptual, is called one-pointedness. This is also divided into three
