As water merges with water waves, there is no need to examine the essence of each thought individually. Although there are many movements, they dissolve into their own nature, like snow falling on the ocean. When thoughts arise in meditation, the generation and completion stages are united, and a non-dry understanding arises. In practice, without separating from the essence of emptiness, one can meditate on the deity and the guru, just as a rainbow appears in the sky. When the mind that grasps internally realizes emptiness, the eight consciousnesses, the one who sees forms, the one who hears sounds, the one who smells scents, the one who tastes flavors, all their movements appear without ceasing, but when their essence is realized as emptiness, the signs of grasping subside. This has three levels: small, medium, and large, and whether stability is attained, whether skills are perfected, whether qualities are born, and so on. There are countless differences among them, and what arises for one may not arise for others. The boundaries of the mind and the differences in faculties are limitless, so the way they arise is also similar to that, but the way a great mountain descends is the same, so it should be known. Its meaning is secret and inconceivable, and in the secret tantra of the great river, it is said: "Secondly, with the samadhi of courageous conduct, in the great equanimity free from elaboration, inconceivable samadhi power manifests, and after realization, one has power over birth." Thus it is said. In some tantras, this is also described as like an illusion, and whatever name is given is fine. The signs and results of this are also described by the teacher Garab Dorje in the vast main text of the Great Perfection Pra Khewd: "As long as one abides in equanimity, from what does one prevent the appearance of faults? Self-born wisdom is endowed with warmth, and abides between day and night, abiding in the nature of the non-conceptual thigle. Like the great ocean of immovable clarity, like the unwavering bright sesame oil lamp. This is called the warmth of wisdom bliss. At that time, the attachment to food and clothing is small, afflictions such as attachment and aversion are small, compassion and altruism are very great, and auspicious dream signs appear greatly. Such a yogi, when the five elements dissolve, attains the great vidyadhara position of the gods, and in this life, one can manifest enlightenment." Thus it is said. Thereafter, in the Great Perfection tradition, the samadhi of equality arises, the Great Seal is of one taste, and in the common Dharma, the samadhi called like an illusion arises, the outer earth, stones, mountains, and rocks.
