Ḍaḥ! Since the blessings of the Three Jewels will not enter, it is very important to protect. In this regard, meaningless harm to sentient beings should be piled up like poison, and even to those who are as cruel as enemies, one should think from the bottom of one's heart that one will help them someday, even in future lives, and not have evil thoughts. Even for an extremely cruel monk, this garment is the robe of the Sangha. It is said that when the Dharma declines, all yellow robes will be collected and offered to the gods, so it is impossible for there to be no merit in wearing this. If one's own appearance is not reversed, merit will increase. Just as when the Bhagavan Lion was born steadfastly, a hunter wore Dharma robes and prepared to shoot a poisoned arrow, but he took it with faith and did not take it, so he obtained great merit. Even if he himself temporarily falls into the lower realms, he can be liberated from the Dharma by faith in the Buddha, which is the wish of the Able One, so there is an end. Therefore, it is very important to think that one is not the same as ordinary people. The other seven precepts are easy to keep. For lay people, it is very important to keep these eight precepts. In the Sutra 'Establishment of the World', Indra said: On the eighth day of the waxing moon and in the month of miracles, if one keeps the eight precepts, one will become like me. The Bhagavan said: Kauśika, do not say that. On the eighth day of the waxing moon and in the month of miracles, if one keeps the eight precepts, one will become like me. In the Sutra 'Prediction of Maitreya', Maitreya himself said: In the teachings of Shakyamuni, whoever listens to the Dharma and keeps the eight precepts, will be born into my retinue. In the thirty-sixth chapter of the Samadhiraja Sutra: For as many eons as there are grains of sand in the Ganges, with a pure mind, offering food and drink, umbrellas, banners, and garlands of lamps, serving countless Buddhas, if someone, when the true Dharma is destroyed and the Sugata's teachings are obscured, practices one precept day and night, their merit is superior to the former. In the Sutra 'Moon Lamp', it says that if one keeps the eight-branched precepts for one day and night now, one will not be born in the age of weapons.
