Obtaining stillness is temporary absence of distraction, and when stability of no-meditation is obtained, it is ultimate absence of distraction. For example, obtaining stability in the generation stage and obtaining stability in the completion stage. (29) Homage to the Great Compassionate One! The profound instruction of the Great Compassionate One, it is necessary to summarize the key points of the union of Mahamudra and Dzogchen. As Orgyen Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) said, "Enjoying talking is the meaning of summarizing." Therefore, Bodhicitta, my Yidam deity, the Guru is meditated upon as Mahamudra. Practice the nature of dedication. As it is said, within these five meanings, there is nothing incomplete in the practices of Sutra and Tantra of the New Schools. According to the method of this instruction, adding the Great Perfection Tögal (Leap Over) on top of that, the practice of the Nine Vehicles is completed. That is, one should practice in one session or one sitting. Thus, Yidam, Mahamudra, Guru, Bodhicitta, luminosity, and dedication, these six should be practiced constantly. Even in retreat, this is the practice. As a daily practice, four or three sessions, or two sessions in the morning and evening, or even if there is no time to practice one session a day, this is still the meditation. What is the method of meditation? On a comfortable cushion, sit in the seven-point posture of Vairochana. If that is not possible, then it is okay to do the six fire-method bindings. Alas! Everything is the nature of impermanence, today we must do a satisfying virtuous deed. After thinking about what will happen tomorrow, for the benefit of all sentient beings, may I attain perfect Buddhahood. For that purpose, with the good intention of practicing the profound path of generation and completion, visualize your own body as the form of the Great Compassionate One.
