The ground is not seen, not seeing does not become seeing. It is not color, not shape, not appearance, not darkness, not male, not female, not hermaphrodite. Thus it is said. In the Bodhicitta Commentary, it says: "Neither inside, nor outside, nor in between the two, is the mind of the Victorious Ones found." Thus it is said. In the Question of Maitreya, it says: "The mind is without shape, without color, without location, like the sky." Thus it is said. Tilopa said: "For example, although one can thoroughly explain various terms for the empty sky, there is no way to say that the sky is like this. Similarly, although one can speak of the clear light of one's own mind, there is no basis to assert that it is established as such by speaking." Thus it is said. Mind is like the center of the sky, beyond the realm of thought. Leave it as it is, without accepting or rejecting, and relax. Because the mind has no support, it is the Great Seal. By familiarizing yourself with it, you will attain unsurpassed enlightenment. Thus it is said. Saraha said: "The root of all samsara and nirvana is the nature of the mind. If you realize it, there is no need to meditate, and without contrivance, relax and abide. To abide in oneself and seek elsewhere is a great mistake. There is neither this nor that; everything is in its natural state." Thus it is said. In the Dakini Heart Drop, it says: "In the beginning, there is no place of origin; it is the Dharmakaya. In the middle, there is no place of dwelling; it is the Sambhogakaya. In the end, there is no place to go; it is the Nirmanakaya." Thus it is said. The nature of mind is self-liberated as the nature of the three kayas. Thus it is said. In the Root Verses, it says: "Look at the essence of your own mind. It is not established as any essence." Thus it is said. Je Rangjung Dorje said: "The intention of the Buddhas of the three times, what the noble ones strive for, the great sound of what is called the Dharmakaya Mahamudra, that great sound refers to one's own mind. If you do not know the true face of your own mind, it is the one that says 'my mind, my mind,' remembering what should not be remembered. All phenomena of samsara and nirvana do not go beyond this awareness. The essence of the Tripitaka Sutras and Tantras is also this; if you practice this, there is nothing to meditate on. Leave this awareness directly and naturally. There is no need to doubt whether it is the Great Seal or not. Do not hope for good or suspect bad. Do not follow the footsteps of many fellow practitioners in realization. Leave awareness directly on its own. Relax and let go. There is nothing to meditate on.

Thus, by meditating again and again, from a certain time onwards, recognizing the nature of thoughts, in an instant, uprooting the darkness of habitual tendencies, that is what is called becoming a Buddha. Differentiating in a single instant. The heart-essence words of the Great Seal, a single pith instruction, are the ultimate instructions of the noble Lamas and accomplished ones. In the Jo-Drom Questions and Answers, it is said: If you repeatedly search for the essence and do not find it, then you will repeatedly see Dromtönpa's own system. Do you leave it at not finding the essence? Dromtönpa said, "Relaxing and letting go is supreme." Also, the Lord of the Three Worlds said: When looking at your own awareness, this clear and distinct awareness, not seeing anything at all, that is seeing reality itself. It means that when the mind is not distracted and abides in calm abiding, that is calm abiding. When observing its nature, seeing emptiness particularly clearly, that is insight arising from the basis of abiding. If the mind is slightly unfocused, it cannot be seen. Seeing the mind distracted into various things, that is calm abiding. When observing its nature, seeing emptiness, that is insight arising from the basis of movement. In the Root of the Five Stages, it is said: If the mind does not discriminate, in the sky of the Dharmakaya, if the clouds of thoughts do not clear, then the sun and moon of the two knowledges will not be clear, therefore, diligently practice this original meditation. Introduction complete. (14) Profound instructions on Great Compassion. The method of taking the essential meaning of the introduction into practice. The Great Brahmin said: This mind-essence bound by ropes, if loosened, there is no doubt that it will be liberated. Also, in the instructions of Avalokiteśvara to Mitra Dzoki, it is said: Whatever arises is illusory, whatever appears, if not forgotten with mindfulness, then what appears is emptiness itself, the king of yogis will not be eaten by demons. Maitripa said: For the unborn, thoughts are sudden, thoughts are also the realm of Dharma itself, who knows that these two are without difference? I say, that is union. Shawaripa said: In the Great Seal, where there is nothing to do in the mind, because there is not even a speck to be meditated upon, therefore one does not meditate, not meditating and not being separated from meaning is the supreme meditation. Also, Jetsun Drakpa Gyaltsen said: Look at the mind of the mind that is without mind. Also, Avalokiteśvara does not eat people. Thus he said. Bhava Grovala
