It stands upright in oneness. The root of grasping and clinging is completely severed. Clinging also arises dependent on objects, but here, since all grasped objects appear as naturally clear, there is no consciousness that grasps. Clinging appears as a companion to the single consciousness that appears on the object. Forms and other objects appear without conceptualization, so grasping and clinging appear on the object. The nature of small one taste and union is no different, but the experience becomes more stable. The experience of body, appearance, and mind merging into one arises. Subsequent cognition and dreams are also less confusing than before, and stubborn clinging does not arise much. However, whether in dreams or at other times, the activity of perceiving duality as illusory, with correct mindfulness observing whether one is distracted or not, will also occur intermittently. The difference between grasped mindfulness and correct mindfulness is that in a state of distraction, after the thought "I am being distracted," virtuous actions occasionally arise in the mindstream. This is grasped mindfulness, a sign of previous clinging. Without grasping, if a thought arises occasionally on the basis of practice, it is called correct mindfulness of realized Dharma, a sign that one has not previously gained certainty but has not engaged in clinging. Thus it is said. Lord Phagmo Drupa said, "In the great one taste, all phenomena are pacified into equality." Gyalwa Yang Gonpa said, "The great one taste is the pacification of all phenomena encompassed by appearance and existence into the nature of unbornness. That is the realization of one taste. The appearance of diverse phenomena, the abiding of all phenomena of samsara and nirvana in the essence of emptiness, is called one taste diverse, which is the profound and vast non-dual realization. The sutras say: 'The samadhi called the profound appearance of all phenomena, and the samadhi of the equality of all phenomena, free from elaboration.' This refers to that samadhi. All phenomena encompassed by appearance, existence, samsara, and nirvana, abiding in their own places, without losing their color or changing their form, just as they are, abiding in the nature of realization in non-duality, so that whether in meditation or post-meditation, there is no need to make even the slightest alteration with antidotes, this is the great one taste." The Great Instruction says, "The great one taste is the realization of all phenomena of appearance, existence, samsara, and nirvana as equal in the state of unbornness. Appearance and mind are one."
