It is to realize. Thus it is said. In the Doha, it is said: Who knows the nature of being rootless? The one who receives the blessings of the Lama is the most excellent. Thus it is said. In the Great Instruction, it is said: The intermediate freedom from elaboration is: Previously, the coarse experience of being separated from the three, arising, abiding, and ceasing of the mind, and from the coarse stains of clinging to emptiness, one obtains pure perception, or is free from attachment, and ordinary consciousness becomes clear and unobstructed in the absence of objects. The clinging to appearance and emptiness, afflictions, and all conceptual thoughts, it is sufficient to merely recognize the rootless self-nature as groundless. Now, why does this slight discomfort arise in appearance because of a slight maladjustment to external objects? It is clearly emptiness, but this appearance has ceased. Is it not becoming interdependent? And so on, even small hopes and doubts, and various mistakes and non-mistakes occur in dreams. Recognizing the subsequent consciousness of that is what is called recognition. It is to effortlessly abide in the state of equanimity and recognition. Thus it is said. Götsangpa said: When one first realizes freedom from elaboration, realizing that all phenomena are separate from the three, arising, abiding, and ceasing, is the basis for all qualities, and a special joy arises, so it is called the first ground, the Utterly Joyful. Thus it is said. Realizing all phenomena as freedom from elaboration, being free from the stains of afflictions and what is to be abandoned by meditation, it is called the second ground, the Stainless. Thus it is said. Since the mind is inherently separate from all arising and ceasing, it is manifested by the blessings of the Lama, so it is called the third ground, the Illuminating. Thus it is said. In that realization of being rootless, the great qualities of the Buddha arise and the benefit of sentient beings is accomplished, so it is called the fourth ground, the Radiating Light. Thus it is said. Purifying the habitual stains that are difficult to purify, it is called the fifth ground, the Difficult to Tame. Thus it is said. Je Phagmo Drupa said: With great freedom from elaboration, one cuts off the superimpositions on external and internal phenomena. Thus it is said. Gyalwa Yang Gonpa said: At that time, knowing the self-nature of realization, there is none in the continuum, and in appearance, clinging to pleasure and pain arises. From here, the distinction between experience and realization is distinguished, realization and experience are mixed, and experience is not separate from realization, experience is purified by realization, and the power of realization is increased and protected by experience, so that realization reaches the ultimate, and the elaboration of external and internal phenomena, the knowable encompassed by samsara and nirvana.

Being free from elaboration, or realizing non-emptiness, without even a hair's tip being empty, appearances arise as selfless. Realizing that appearances are the nature of one's own mind in general, even if there are no appearances in external objects, one realizes it in one's own mind. The Mind-Only school is intention, and that is also the meaning of that. By realizing the nature of the bodhicitta that is free from elaboration, cutting off imputations in emptiness is ultimate wisdom, all dharmas are without self-nature, or unborn, or unestablished as true. Whatever arises, the undiminished fresh thoughts of experience are not quite true. Mahamudra is not realized from one aspect. When one taste arises, there is no difference between being free from elaboration and not being free from elaboration, there is no difference between emptiness and non-emptiness. Appearances are fresh, thoughts are fresh, whatever arises, whatever appears, whatever dawns is sufficient, that is the characteristic of Mahamudra, the tolerable realization. Realizing the luminosity that is free from elaboration. As it says in the Great Instruction: The great freedom from elaboration is that all phenomena, internal and external, cut off imputations, appearances are known as one's own mind, mind and appearances are without self-nature, free from the object of focus, and are comfortably realized like the center of the sky. Previously, it was not comfortable on the appearance, but comfortable on the awareness, and practice is done on the awareness. Here, appearances are known as mind, mind is known as emptiness, understanding emptiness. The main part of practice is done on emptiness. Cutting off imputations in emptiness, therefore all dharmas are without self-nature, or unestablished, this undiminished fresh appearance is not quite true, this is considered a rootless delusion. In this case, there is no interruption in meditation during the day. At night, holding onto dreams is mistaken for after-knowledge, and some thoughts arise. This also happens because the memory of sleep weakens. When disturbed by strong external circumstances, after-knowledge may also appear slightly. Before that, if one has not become the master of the arising of meditation, then one will be inseparable at all times. Constantly maintain mindfulness without distraction. Relying slightly on mindfulness, therefore mindfulness is very important. Mindfulness distinguishes between freedom from elaboration and subsequent states. Between freedom from elaboration and samsara and nirvana, there is only the difference between remembering and not remembering. The main part of myself is mindfulness. If attachment has not begun, then even a slight bit of hatred is self-empty. If one does not recognize the truth and begins to cling, then there are no afflictions and thoughts.
