Compiled. (Sa). The four yogas in sequence are based on the oral instructions of the Great Compassionate One. Homage to the Great Compassionate One! The profound oral instructions of the Great Compassionate One. By meditating on this, how to ascend the stages and paths. As explained in the sutras, tantras, and by the accomplished ones, the ten bhumis and five paths of the sutra system, and the four yogas and two stages of the tantra system. The paths of sutra and tantra are different. It is also difficult to be completely in accord. Similarly, it is also difficult to be in accord with the four visions of Dzogchen, because the paths are different. Zhang Rinpoche said: Once the Mahamudra is determined, it is a mistake to calculate the stages and paths out of ignorance. That's what he said. This refers to those who attain enlightenment suddenly and those who transcend suddenly. For those who attain enlightenment gradually, it is also coordinated with the ten bhumis and five paths. Naropa said: First, experience one-pointedness. (Tibetan: དང་པོ་རྩེ་གཅིག་ཉམས་སུ་མྱོང་།) And, as stated in the "Root Verses of the Great Instruction": One-pointedness, shamatha and vipashyana inseparable, abide in meaning. The meaning of what is said is that abiding in the meaning of emptiness and clarity like the sky is one-pointedness. At that time, although the essence of meditation is realized as emptiness and clarity like the sky, because the vipashyana of definitive understanding of clarity and emptiness like the sky has not arisen, one-pointedness wanders in the darkness like a dog. At that time, it is difficult to grasp the ordinary cognition of post-meditation. Although clarity and emptiness are perceived during samadhi, there is delusion in ordinary post-meditation, so there is the stain of clinging to reality. Purify the stains of karma. If forgotten, there is separation because it is separated from meditation. Even if remembered, there is no attainment because the essence is not seen. It is impossible to cut off the superimposition on experience. Together with what is meditated upon and who is meditating. It is a time when it is difficult to grasp the nature of mind. The aggregates of form are the consciousnesses of the five senses, and they are perceived as self-empty without inherent existence. Because it is merely with attachment, the experience and realization are stained. On the door of the manifestation of pure awareness, although subtle causes and effects are in accordance, because there is clinging to reality, it is difficult to grasp causes and effects. Non-distraction is samadhi, distraction is post-meditation. At this time, abandoning clinging to names and concepts, mainly cultivate shamatha from a state of non-thought. It is recognizing the self-nature of clarity and emptiness."

It is called "transformation." If one abides in this, a blissful experience will arise: First, the mind experiences appearances as emptiness, just as one recognizes hail as water. Thus it is said. The mind free from elaborations spoken by Nagarjuna in the Five Stages, the spontaneously accomplished yoga spoken by Lawapa, the yoga of experiencing samadhi spoken by Shawaripa, the time of cutting off imputations spoken by Maitripa, and the yoga of selflessness spoken in the Lankavatara Sutra, the samadhi of children's play, the nectar of the six dharmas, and the meaning of the vase empowerment, these are all considered to be of the same meaning. The Great Instruction says: The intermediate one-pointedness is that even if one does not practice intermittently, one will enter into that samadhi, and when one practices, it will become stable. In the pure part of practicing that blissful, clear, non-conceptual samadhi, one can manifest impure direct perception, miraculous powers, and so on. In that experience, thoughts arise less than before, and whatever arises naturally becomes clear, and subsequently, with the experience of clarity and emptiness, the vast appearance arises as meditation whenever one remembers it. Sometimes it arises as Adha. In dreams, the number decreases compared to before. That experience sometimes comes, sometimes it does not. Great enthusiasm for meditation arises. Gyalwa Yang Gonpa said: Relying on it, for the non-conceptual awareness, that clear and lucid state that cannot be identified, abiding in it in the manner of Namo, one should gain mastery over the intermediate one-pointed samadhi. Phagmo Drupa said: Gain mastery over the intermediate one-pointed samadhi. The oral instructions of the lineage of accomplished ones say: Thus, the bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality of meditation are mixed, and the one-pointedness of experience spoken of by those who have mastery over how long to abide is consistent in meaning. The intermediate one-pointedness, which is similar to clarity and emptiness, if it is grasped by mindfulness, even if it cannot be grasped continuously, it will sometimes come, and this is called the peak of heat in the path of joining. If the experience becomes stable and clarity and emptiness are grasped by mindfulness, it will come continuously. This sometimes comes even if it is not grasped. This is also called the peak of heat, and that is the saying of Götsangpa. Phagdru's words say: Great one-pointedness has entered the realm of experience. Yang Gonpa also said: It arises continuously, and all thoughts subside in its state, and sleep also enters its state, and it is inseparable from the four modes of conduct.
