Gathering all objects of attachment and clinging into a single mandala, wholeheartedly offering it three times to the Guru and the Three Jewels, recite the "Earth Anointing Fragrance" three times. Then, like a patron who has completed the offering, resolve not to be attached to who takes or who enjoys it. After that, whether performing transference or practicing vows, focus your awareness. The Vajra Verses of Avalokiteśvara state: "The meaning of transference, possessed by learned and virtuous scholars, when the signs of death manifest internally, and one is accustomed to the co-emergent clear light, transference occurs through the doors of body, speech, and mind." Furthermore, as stated in the Tantra of the All-Knowing Dakini: "If consciousness rides on the lower path, even a practitioner of Dharma will fall into the lower realms, like a traveler on the road being diverted by a friend." "If consciousness rides on the wind through the upper path, even a practitioner of sin will be born in a higher, virtuous place, like a traveler on the road being diverted by a friend." Furthermore, as stated in the Kunzang Gongpa Kundu Tantra: "Having transferred in this way, one does not return, the fear of the bardo does not arise, and one becomes manifestly perfectly enlightened." Such is the meaning of what is said. The explanation of this transference is extensive, and there are many different stages of visualization. However, this transference is well-known and understood by all, so there is no need to elaborate on it here. The Red Guidance of Great Compassion, the Chembupa tradition, the Lawa Gyaltsen tradition, and the essence of the Palmo tradition are compiled. Amitabha Buddha imparted it to Guru Padmasambhava. The transference of Great Bliss Wisdom, the key to emptying the pit of samsara. The special characteristic of the Great Accomplisher Karma Pakshi. Karma Pakshi himself said: "Whenever performing worldly activities, one should practice this key instruction." If performing death rituals for others, everyone should loudly recite this practice, and in an instant, they will become enlightened. If this transference is taught to everyone, the activity will be extremely vast. Thus it is said. Visualize yourself as the Great Compassionate One, white in color, with one face and four arms, the inside of the body empty and hollow. Visualize the lower gate, the secret place, the mouth, the navel, the two nostrils, the two ears, the space between the eyebrows, and the crown chakra, each blocked by a red seed syllable.

In the center of the body, there is the central channel, white on the outside and red on the inside. Its upper end opens wide at the Brahma aperture like the mouth of a conch shell. The lower end is blocked by (the mantra) "ཕཊ་" (Tibetan, Devanagari: फट्, Romanized Sanskrit: phaṭ, literal Chinese meaning: "phat") at the three-way intersection below the navel, appearing as a sealed cavity. In one's own heart, on a lotus and moon seat, is the essence of one's own wind, mind, and consciousness. Visualize Avalokiteśvara, with a white body, one face, and four arms, complete in form, small in stature but with well-formed limbs, possessing radiance, splendor, and majesty. Above one's own head, about an arrow's height away, on a thousand-petaled red lotus and a full moon mandala. Visualize the essence of all the root and lineage gurus, yidams, Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas gathered into one, Amitabha Buddha, with a body the color of red ruby, one face, and two arms, holding a nectar-filled begging bowl in the meditation mudra. The head has a crown protuberance, the feet have wheels, etc., adorned with marks and signs. Wearing the three Dharma robes, residing in the vajra posture. Invite Amitabha from Sukhavati, and invite all the gurus, yidams, Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas from the ten directions, all those one hopes for and relies on, and merge them through intention. There, resolve to take refuge in the assembly of all refuges. Recite many times: Homage to Buddha Amitabha! Then, just by reciting "ཨོཾ་" (Tibetan, Devanagari: ओ, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ, literal Chinese meaning: "Om"), visualize one's own mind, the Great Compassionate One, rising upwards from the crown of the head, with the upper body appearing white and radiant at the crown. By reciting "མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ་" (Tibetan, Devanagari: मणि पद्मे हूँ, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ maṇi padme hūṃ, literal Chinese meaning: "Om Mani Padme Hum"), visualize one's own mind, the Great Compassionate One, moving downwards and residing in the heart. It is good to practice this several times beforehand. When one is about to die, have those present chant the six-syllable mantra loudly in melody, and just by loudly reciting "ཨོཾ་" (Tibetan, Devanagari: ओ, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ, literal Chinese meaning: "Om"), visualize one's consciousness shooting out from the central channel of the Great Compassionate One at the crown of the head with great force, merging into the heart of Amitabha. Again, visualize the Great Compassionate One in the heart, and alternate the visualization. Visualize alternatingly again and again. Continue visualizing in this way until the breath ceases. As signs of successful transference, heat gathers at the crown of the head, exhalation occurs, and the crown of the head bulges. At that time, or after three, five, or seven days, a rainbow appears in the sky, and any sacred object or relic appears. Also, completion in this life.
