There is no need to attain liberation. For meditating on various appearances, there is no need to abide in equanimity. For the Mahamudra of arising thoughts, there is no need to block appearances. For the experience of the union of clear light mother and child, there is no need to hold on with mindfulness. Thus it is said. Rangjung Dorje said: In general, when we say "view, view," if you look, look at your own mind. If you look but don't see anything, that itself is the king of seeing. Look again and again, look at the mind. From the palace of the unborn mind, the unchanging great bliss Dharmakaya abides. If you don't see the self-nature of mind's awareness, how can you find it by searching elsewhere? Thus it is said. Rolpai Dorje said: This ordinary consciousness of the beginning, know that it is the Dharmakaya. These thoughts that remember everything, know that they are wisdom. Thus it is said. Khachö Wangpo said: No matter how good the view of the scriptures is, it goes against the meaning of reality. No matter how high the view made by the mind is, it only lies dormant in the state of the realized ones. Thus it is said. Knowing one's own mind and nature is itself Buddhahood. What is the use of so many terms, hearing, and thinking? The picture of scriptural realization gradually disappears. Nakedly seeing, naturally liberated, this is the path to enlightenment. Thus it is said. Drungkyi Kunga Namgyal's words say: The early signs of realization are the warmth of gaining experience, gaining the ability to work with the blissful, clear, non-conceptual mind. That which is free from the fault of straying is called one-pointedness. Purifying attachment from experience, there is no object. The nature of the expanse of awareness is the realization of emptiness. After equanimity, the five aggregates are like illusion. Free from the stain of delusion, that is called recognizing one's own nature, the path of seeing, non-conceptual wisdom, free from elaboration. All phenomena, encompassing samsara and nirvana, will realize the nature of the union mind. Without effort, freely controlling self-appearance, understanding the profound and vast realization is called one taste. By this liberation, day and night, all that is grasped, the pure self-appearance, shows the original realm. The expanse of awareness becomes one, the clear light mother and child meet. The spontaneous accomplishment of the three bodies is called no meditation. As it is said, it arises in sequence. Introduction to self-nature is complete.

Herein resides the method of traversing the ground and path of the Four Visions of Tögal, based on the supporting Dharma of Red Instructions. Homage to the Great Compassionate One! Profound instructions of the Great Compassionate One. Having previously introduced Trekchö and Tögal of the Great Perfection, the reason why these two must be united. From the Secret Tantra of the Dakini, Klongsal Barma Nima: If Trekchö is not cut through, Tögal cannot be transcended. If Tögal is not transcended, Trekchö cannot be cut through. And, from the Kunzang Gongpa Kundü Tantra: If the meaning of Trekchö is not realized, even if Tögal dawns, it is with grasping. A talker without experience is like pouring gold dust into water. Thus it is said. Therefore, the practice of the ground, Trekchö, the Great Seal, and the path, Tögal, gazing at the clear light with the eyes, the union of the two is the pinnacle of the nine vehicles. Moreover, in the time of degeneration, it is prophesied that this will flourish in the snowy land of the north and attain results. From the Tantra of the Great Perfection, Cutting Through Deluded Appearances: Even after I have passed into nirvana, after many years have passed, supreme results will occur immeasurably in the north. Thus it is said. From the Törgyü Tantra: In the five hundredth year, secret mantra will flourish in the northern region. At that time, this Dharma of the fruit of secret mantra will be practiced by some individuals. Those will attain results that are not inferior. Thus it is said. When Orgyen Rinpoche went to the land of the Rakshasas, he said: In the future, fortunate individuals will appear in succession. If practiced single-pointedly, even in the degenerate age, the result will not be far off, and many will attain accomplishment. Therefore, one should practice the clear light Tögal. There are four points to this: First, pressing the key points of body, speech, and mind. Second, relying on the three key points to bring manifest experience directly to oneself. Third, after practicing, showing how the four visions arise. Finally, the subsequent instructions of the concluding support. First, pressing the key points has three aspects: the key point of the body, and the key points of speech and mind. First, pressing the key point of the body has three aspects: the posture of the Nirmanakaya is like a straight-sitting ascetic, the posture of the Sambhogakaya is like an elephant lying down, and the posture of the Dharmakaya is
