Thus it is said. In the So tradition of Pacifying the Suffering from Father Dampa, it is said: When the powers of the five senses are clear, without the mind's consciousness scattering, without clinging to self-clarity, that is the great method of abiding. Thus it is said. In Songtsen Gampo's Revealing the Hidden Meaning, it is said: By looking, there is no object to be seen; by abiding without looking, the nature of reality is seen. By abiding without cultivation, the nature of mind is accomplished. Without grasping or releasing, it is liberated in its own place. Abide without any clinging to variety. Abide without any acceptance or rejection of variety. Sever decisiveness and be liberated. Thus it is said. In Dzogchen, although many differences between mind and awareness are explained, the point of convergence is one. From the Tantra of the Dakini, Space of Clear Blazing Light, it is said: Awareness, awareness, what is called awareness is awareness because it is aware and clear. The previous conceptual thought is liberated in its own place. The subsequent clinging to it has not arisen. In between, it is free from forceful artificiality. This stainless, clear, and pure [state], recognize it as awareness. Essence is emptiness, nature is clarity, compassion is capable of appearing to all. That is the nature of awareness. Thus it is said. In the Letter of Dechen Lingpa, it is said: This Dharmakaya of awareness that has been there from the beginning, because it is self-arisen and self-manifested, you have not recognized it. This samsara, which revolves like a continuous thread, from this very day, please recognize it. While all appearances and existence are clearly yourself, if you accept and reject, negate and affirm, you are binding yourself. Since phenomena have no inherent existence in reality, do not make the mistake of clinging to illusions that do not exist. This natural, uncorrected, fresh, and relaxed state, in which the primordial Buddha has always been, without making any good or bad modifications, admixtures, thoughts, or judgments, continuously establish the guard of unforgetting mindfulness. In the great expanse of equality between samsara and nirvana, what is there to say about not knowing or not arising? Stop the painful oppression, cut off the continuation of conceptual thoughts, and abide in a state of non-doing and non-effort. This very fresh awareness of the present moment is the Great Seal, the intention of the Buddhas. Samatha, vipassana, experiences, realizations, wisdom, etc., let go of any attachment to anything. Even if you become a Buddha, it is your own awareness. Samsara and the lower realms are your own illusions. Therefore, from your own awareness alone, do not engage in any hope, fear, acceptance, rejection, negation, or affirmation. Thus it is said. Re Dawwa Shönnu Lodrö said: Look at the sphere of the innate mind like this, without separating skillful means and wisdom.

Effortless One, Mahamudra. Clear and obscure, dullness and agitation abandoned, the original mind. Desiring to meditate, do not mix with the mind, leave it in its own place. Let it be, establish the wall of mindfulness. Like a bird flying on a boat in the midst of the ocean, Circling all directions and landing there again. No matter how many groups of conceptual thoughts arise, They ultimately fall back into the ordinary, natural state, into the realm of Dharma. Therefore, there is no need to deliberately block conceptual thoughts. Let them be, keep watch with mindfulness. Just as poison is transformed by mantra, Conceptual thoughts and afflictions arise as great wisdom. Non-conceptuality achieved through effort and striving, Is a great darkness that obscures the self-arisen clear light. Therefore, if you wish the self-arisen clear light to dawn, O yogi, do not strive for non-conceptuality. Just as trying to calm the waves of the Ganges, Only makes them rise again with effort. Even if you rely on an antidote to block conceptual thoughts, The waves of conceptual thought will only surge more. When one leaves it to its natural state, Like the waves of water subsiding, Likewise, if you know how to maintain it effortlessly and naturally, The waves of conceptual thought will naturally subside. Conceptual thoughts dissolve into the Dharmadhatu, which is calm abiding. Cutting through clinging and attachment is insight. Appearance and mind blend inseparably, which is the path of union. Like a crystal bowl filled with water. From the beginning, the Dharmadhatu is naturally pure and spontaneously accomplished. The imprints of afflictive stains cannot be removed. Nor is there a need to cultivate the imprints of non-conceptual antidotes. Therefore, what antidote should one meditate on? When one's own mind abides in the unborn Dharmadhatu, Without seeing the characteristics of abandoning and adopting antidotes, At the moment when there is no meditator or object of meditation, What is to be abandoned is self-liberated, and the antidote is self-arisen. At first, like a child's path, turbulent like water in a ravine. In the middle, like the path of the noble ones, slow like the flow of the Ganges. In the end, like the depths of the ocean, unshakable by anything, That is the path of omniscience. Thus it is said. Kyeme Zhang Rinpoche said: When meditating on Mahamudra, Do not engage in trivial matters that should be done. The three, preliminary, main part, and subsequent, Like the order, there is no fixed number. There is no need to calculate hours and dates. Whenever you remember, let it be. There is no beginning, middle, or end. One's own mind is unborn, continuous, and unbroken. The waves of water are turbid and surging. Do not make
