Excellent! The key to managing the timing here is as Re mda' ba said: "Release the iron hook and establish the stake of mindfulness." As he said, it is to maintain awareness without being distracted by the essence of whatever arises. Then, The fourth experience is like the ocean not stirred by the wind, the mind remains still and clear, thoughts are few, and whatever thoughts arise dissolve naturally like water and waves within that experience. At that time, if it is too loose, clarity will not arise, and it will become dull, like being drowsy. Therefore, slightly tighten the body and mind, and be alert. When you look sharply at whatever arises, it does not establish itself as any essence. Like this, the state of it cannot be described, and if you try to describe it, saying, "It's kind of like this," there will be no end to the description. One like that arises. In this case, it is best to introduce it, but introducing it too early can lead to misunderstanding. If it is not introduced at the right time, it will not be understood, and one will not want to practice it. The scriptures say that when no thoughts arise in the mind, and it remains naked and empty, or like a completely empty state, if you turn your mindfulness inward and look, it does not establish itself as existence or non-existence, etc., and it is understood to be beyond the realm of speech and thought, then it is called seeing the nature of mind. Thus it is said. Therefore, the mind cannot be found by searching outside, which is outer emptiness; the mind cannot be found by searching inside, which is inner emptiness; the mind cannot be found by searching in both directions, which is outer-inner emptiness, etc. The eighteen emptinesses are complete in the mind. The essence of the mind is emptiness, which is the Dharmakaya; its nature is clarity, which is the Sambhogakaya; and its unceasing arising of anything is the Nirmanakaya. These three are inseparable, which is the Svabhavikakaya. Similarly, abiding is the Dharmakaya, flowing is the Nirmanakaya, and awareness is the Sambhogakaya. These three are inseparable, which is the nature of the Svabhavikakaya. The mind is not established as a thing, so it is not existent. It remembers and knows everything, so it is not non-existent. It is neither existent nor non-existent, because it is not separate existence. It is also not non-dual, because it is impossible. Therefore, the Middle Way, which is free from the four extremes, is one's own mind. If you understand this, it is the best of all that is to be known. If you meditate on this, you will cross to the other side of the ocean of samsara, so Prajnaparamita is also this. There is nothing incomplete or imperfect in this.

Because there is no Dharma more supreme or higher than this, it is the Great Perfection. Because in this Mudra of Dharmata-Emptiness, all the Dharmas of Samsara and Nirvana have no place to transcend, it is the Great Mudra. If one realizes this, it pacifies all the sufferings of existence, therefore it is the Pacifier of Suffering. Regarding this, the root of the Whispered Transmission of the Precious Kagyu is: Dakpo Rinpoche said, "Co-emergent Mind-essence is the Dharmakaya, co-emergent conceptual thought is the waves of the Dharmakaya, co-emergent appearance is the light of the Dharmakaya, inseparable co-emergence is the meaning of the Dharmakaya." Therefore, all these appearances of the six external aggregates are Mind. There is no truly established thing in the external world, which is no different from the various appearances in a dream. Because the imprints of dreams are weak, it is easy to realize that they are not true upon awakening. These present appearances are also difficult to realize as untrue because the imprints of delusion are thick, but in reality, it can be determined that they are not truly established, therefore it is determined that appearance is Mind. The Mind's initial place of origin cannot be found, so it is unborn. Where is it now? Looking, there is no place to abide, so it is without abiding. Where will it ultimately go? Looking, there is no place to go, so it is without cessation. Being free from the three—birth, abiding, and cessation—is the Dharmakaya. Therefore, the Mind is free from speech, thought, and expression, so it is determined to be Emptiness. That Emptiness is determined to be the Dharmakaya. The way of introducing it like this is limitless, and one should extensively consult all the Sutras, Tantras, and Shastras. There is no space to write it here. To increase faith a little, I quote the following: The Great Accomplisher Shavaripa said, "All Dharmas are one's own Mind, apart from Mind, there is not even a particle of another Dharma. Whoever realizes the absence of Mind from the very beginning, obtains the sacred intention of the Buddhas of the three times." And, Naropa said, "These Dharmas of appearance and existence are not separate from self-knowing Mind." And, Maitripa said, "Each and every variety is one's own Mind-essence. All of Samsara and Nirvana are inseparable from Yoga, like water and its waves." And, Tailopa said, "Thus, the nature of Mind is like the sky from the very beginning. All Dharmas without exception are gathered within it." Thus it was said. If one thinks that one does not recognize the Mind, then the Lord of the Three Worlds said: The knowing awareness that accompanies the experience of pleasure and pain is manifest.
