Cushions and so on. Life can also be attained immeasurably. Enjoyment, happiness, and well-being are perfectly complete. Thereafter, the kalpa gradually declines. Life and merit gradually decrease. Nowadays, forty-three or four. It is said to be the lifespan of humans. Up to ten years old is a child's mind. They do not understand the meaning of Dharma and worldly affairs. Those under fifteen or sixteen. Do not have freedom, but are under the control of their parents. Thereafter, if the karmic connection awakens, Even if they rely on a teacher for a few years, It is difficult to understand the true nature of Dharma. They study knowledge and contemplate virtues. Although they may shave their heads and change into monastic robes, It is difficult to be seized by the thought of renunciation. Even if they rely on a lama or teacher, They only learn a few virtues, It is difficult to encounter and explain the definitive meaning. Thereafter, many years pass. Some virtues are gradually forgotten. Even if they slightly understand the true nature of Dharma, How beautiful is the appearance of the body as a monk, and Rituals, empowerments, fire offerings, and so on. They place high hopes on one capable monk. Thereafter, they receive profound teachings such as instructions. Even if they know how to practice, They desire fame for this life's disciples. Even if they know how to practice, they are bound by laziness. The lifespan is nearing forty years. Can it be averted by the compassion of the Three Jewels? Unable to avert, they will die at the hurdle of forty years. Although there is a thought to practice the sacred Dharma, and Many things to practice, There is a fear of dying without accomplishment. Alas, ordained monks and capable monks. If you cannot practice immediately, Even if you know, there is the fault of being useless. Ordinary people who enter the Dharma gate. Their thoughts are immature like children. They kill insects, birds, and wild animals. After thinking about physical health, they want to accumulate wealth. They commit various kinds of evil deeds. Even if they do, the power of past karma is great. There is no time for happiness and abundance. If they start a family, they will be even more distressed. Even if they know good and evil, they have no fear or hesitation. Knowingly committing various evil deeds. The lifespan is around forty years old. Even if they go, they have not thought about death. Even if they reach the judgment seat of Yama, They hope to deceive with rituals and medicine. If they know that they cannot deceive and will surely die, They will remember their sins and regret and repent. With the wealth obtained through evil deeds, A small portion is given away. Giving away with stinginess, Hoping to achieve lasting happiness in future lives. If you think about it carefully, it is truly pitiful. The precious human body that is difficult to obtain. Such a meaningless waste. Most people are like that.

will also occur. Even if one obtains the leisure and endowment of a human body, Not entering the gate of the supreme Dharma, Is the fault of not remembering impermanence and death. Even if one enters the gate of Dharma, it is only in appearance, Unable to become a true practitioner, Is the fault of not remembering impermanence and death. Even if one studies extensively in many fields of knowledge, Even if one enters the ranks of the wise, Unable to tame one's own mind and becoming timid, Is the fault of not remembering impermanence and death. Even if one practices the supreme Dharma according to the Dharma, Failing to attain the Dharma and falling back, Is the fault of not remembering impermanence and death. Even if one's merits and practice are complete, Unable to gain stability and becoming arrogant, Is the fault of not remembering impermanence and death. Those powerful kings, ministers, and officials, Engaging in endless strife and committing grave sins, Is the fault of not remembering impermanence and death. Those ordinary men and women, Striving to create evil deeds as much as possible, Is the fault of not remembering impermanence and death. Remembering impermanence and death, Is the most supreme among all thoughts, This is what the Bhagavan himself said. All the accomplished masters of the Kagyu lineage, Have death engraved in their hearts, The meaning of the words of blessing, Lies in this being the root of the Dharma. Although I also know many merits, Even if I tame the disciples and my fame spreads far, Even if I achieve what I desire, Like a crippled illusionist falling down, I must engrave death in my heart. Always remember the thought of having no leisure, When the time of death arrives, Know that nothing can help in any way. Therefore, before I die, to the best of my ability, Practicing is my vow. And why is that? From the beginning of the kalpa until now, There is no one who has not died and gained eternal life, Not a single person exists. Looking back at this illusory body, Flesh, blood, bones, impure substances, There is no solid entity, Wind, bile, phlegm, worms, and so on, This body is a nest of diseases. Fire, water, poison, weapons, and so on, Even if there is no external harm, This body has the cause of death within. Diseases, evil spirits, enemies, and disasters, Many obstacles that cut off life. Like a candle in a storm. From birth in the mother's womb until now, Years, months, days, and hours, etc., As time passes, we get closer to death. Life is uncertain, Whether old, young, middle-aged, or child, etc., Unexpectedly, many die suddenly. If we think about it, we will feel fear, Some great Bodhisattvas in certain places, Have gained freedom over birth and death, And have clairvoyance in places like Oddiyana (Ujjain, existed around the 8th century AD, located in present-day Pakistan).
