Now, being one with all Buddhas, speech is the source of all Dharma, and since the body is complete in the nature of the Sangha, the Three Jewels are also gathered in the Lama himself. Therefore, the Lama is said to be the root of the Three Jewels. All Vidyadharas and Siddhas are the body of the Lama. All the deities of the Yidam Mandala are the speech of the Lama. All the Dakinis and Dharma Protectors are the mind of the Lama. The wealth deities and treasure owners are the qualities of the Lama, and the Dakinis and protectors are the activities of the Lama. Therefore, the Lama is the embodiment of all Buddhas. This meaning is extensively explained in Lamdre and other teachings. All secret mantras, knowledge mantras, and dharani mantras cannot be practiced without a Lama. Therefore, the Lama is the very nature of Vajradhara. Therefore, it is said that one's own root Lama is more important than a hundred thousand Buddhas. Therefore, it is said that disobeying the Dharma-abiding command of the Lama is a greater offense than killing sentient beings in the three realms. Obeying the command brings great benefit. Naropa (Sanskrit: Nāro) was a scholar and pandit, and he also practiced the recitation of the Hevajra Yidam, but without generating realization or attaining accomplishment, he served Tilopa for twelve years according to his command, and attained accomplishment without needing to practice. The Naropa lineage received blessings through devotion, and through devotion alone, the realization of Mahamudra arose. However, the Lama to whom one prays, being definitely a Buddha, is difficult to find in this degenerate age. Therefore, it is said that one should generate the devotion of a true Buddha towards one's own Lama, who is an ordinary person but possesses all the qualities of a Lama. If one cannot find a Lama who possesses all the qualities, then one can receive empowerment and transmission from one who has more virtues and fewer faults. This is what is said in the Kalachakra Tantra. One should have pure faith in him, but even if one prays single-mindedly, experience and realization will not arise, just as a tsatsa cannot be made without a mold. Therefore, Gyalwang Mikyö Dorje said, "Praying like a dog barking or a pig grunting will not lead to Buddhahood." The meaning of his words is also in this. After receiving the transmission of the Mahamudra instructions, Dakpo Duldzin, Götsangpa, and others, undisputed accomplished masters of the Kagyu lineage, regarded their own root Lama as such, and if they prayed in this way, blessings would enter their hearts and realization would arise.

Those Kagyu lineages say, These are the testaments left by the past ones. Therefore, everyone should pray like this. The methods for generating realization, enhancing it, and dispelling obstacles, There is nothing deeper than this devotion and prayer. If you want to generate experience and realization, Engage in the practice of Guru Yoga in four sessions. Among them are the four sessions of Karmapa, And this Guru Sadhana of Shamarpa, The Guru Yoga of the Four Preliminary Practices combined, Or the prayer to the five deities of Gyalwa Gyatso, Without interruption, such as the small Vajradhara image, When meditating and reciting in each of the four sessions, It's not just lip service, but from the depths of your heart and bones, Tears welling up, hairs standing on end, The appearances will definitely change, pray with devotion. After praying slowly and for a long time like that, By the power of blessings, whatever experiences arise, There will be no obstacles or faults, it is sufficient to maintain them loosely. If the devotion and prayer to the Guru do not become essential, There is no hope of generating Mahamudra. These words were spoken by Raga Asya as he remembered. Sanskrit Romanization: Namo Vajradharaye, Literal Chinese meaning: Homage to Vajradhara). Samantabhadra and Vajradhara, Vajrasattva, Lord of Secrets, Heruka, glorious Padmasambhava, I prostrate to the teachers of secret mantras. The meaning of the ocean of new and old tantras, That unsurpassed secret mantra, When engaging in practice, If summarized, it is the three: ground, path, and fruit. The ground is how great the knowledge is, The path is how important it is to practice, The fruit is the two: temporary and ultimate. The temporary is the conduct of common siddhis, The ultimate is the supreme siddhi, If diligence is great, then this life continues, If moderate, then the bardo, even the worst, It is said that it will be obtained in another life. If the reality of the ground is not known, Then meditation is foolish, blind practice. Among them, the ground is body, speech, and mind, The path is generation stage, winds, and mantra, Non-conceptual Mahamudra. The temporary is the accomplishment of the four activities, The ultimate is the five kayas and five wisdoms, In the mind, there are mind and mind-essence. That also exists in the manner of clarity and impurity. The mind is the deluded conceptual thought, The mind-essence is the nature of the Buddha. Tathagatagarbha, Dharmadhatu, Dharmata, Dharmakaya Samantabhadra. The mind-stream of all Buddhas and, The mind-essence of all sentient beings and, One's own mind-essence are inseparable, Indian water and Tibetan
