If a single tree withers, a hundred thousand leaves wither as well. Therefore, when seeking your own mind, where within or without the body should you look? What is its form and color? You should seek it within the body. If it is not within the body, then seek it in the four directions, four corners, above and below, in the ten directions of the external environment, even to the edge of the sky. If you still cannot find the mind, is not the one who thinks "I have not found it" the mind itself? If the mind does not exist when you look, then from where do feelings like joy and sorrow arise? From where do hatred and desire come? What is the difference between a mind without mind and earth and stones? If you investigate well in this way, then the nature of mind is not something that exists, it has no form, color, or substance. Mind is also not something that does not exist, it manifests in various ways and wanders everywhere. Mind is not singular, it is the collection of the eight consciousnesses, complex and diverse. Mind is also not different, its essence is the single nature of mind. Mind is not permanent, it is impermanent, changing and arising in various ways. Mind is also not annihilated, it is continuous, pulsating without interruption. The movements of the mind are diverse, but it is not born from anywhere in the beginning, it does not abide anywhere in the middle, and where does it go in the end, there is no cessation here. The Middle Way, free from the eight extremes, is inherently complete and present in the mind. Although this truth is clear in the mind, it is impossible to express in words, like a mute person eating sugar, speech, thought, and expression are all impossible, and it manifests directly. This is the nature of insight and the means of practice, this little song of secret words of the dakinis. On the seventeenth day of the Horse year, in the middle month, Ra ga A syas spoke it, which is very rare. Auspicious and complete! Emaho! The wise Naropa Pandit took the essence of the four tantras and gave it to the noble Marpa Lotsawa. If you know how to establish dependent arising in the body, then the means of arising realization in the mind, these seven dharmas of Vairochana Buddha, among all the dharmas propagated in Tibet, Marpa himself said, "These seven key points of my body are very profound." Sit in the vajra posture with legs crossed. If you are old or have a foot ailment, it is sufficient to sit in the half-lotus posture. The vajra posture is with the right leg on top, and the half-lotus posture is with the right leg placed on the outside. The spine should be straight like an arrow, the waist slightly tucked in, the abdomen relaxed, the chest placed upright, the neck bent like an iron hook, the hands in the meditation mudra, placed below the navel, the right hand on top, the two thumbs touching the abdomen.

Do not bend, but straighten. Arms up like an eagle spreading its wings, eyes half-closed, looking at the tip of the nose. Stare into space, without thinking of anything in the mind, relax and abide loosely, and wisdom will appear immediately. By straightening the posture in this way, the central channel among the three channels becomes straight. By sitting in the lotus position, the downward-moving air is controlled and remains. By making the abdomen empty, the fire element is enhanced, the breath is controlled, and warmth arises, the warmth melts the bindu at the crown of the head. Flowing downwards, bliss arises. By stretching the arms like an eagle spreading its wings, the breath enters the central channel. Non-conceptual wisdom naturally arises. By slightly bending the neck, the upward-moving air is controlled, and the knots of the channels are released. By looking at the tip of the nose with the eyes, neither opening nor closing them, one sees the wisdom Mahamudra. Those who are healthy and young, if they strive in this posture, the wisdom Mahamudra will naturally appear without effort. Even if the elderly or sick cannot complete the seven dharmas, it is important to sit upright when meditating, and it is very important to straighten the spine. The supreme channel, Avadhuti, it is very important to straighten it. When establishing the seven dharmas of Vairochana, tilting to the right causes the experience of clarity to diminish, and then anger will arise, and male demons will cause harm. Tilting to the left causes the experience of bliss to diminish, and then desire will increase greatly, and female demons will cause harm. Tilting backwards causes pride to arise, and the mind becomes uneasy and agitated. Bending forward causes non-conceptuality to arise, and then ignorance increases, and nagas and earth lords will cause harm. Therefore, do not tilt or sway, the sign of practicing the posture is that even if you maintain it for a long time, there will be no discomfort. Just by straightening the posture, the mind is immersed in samadhi. One can attain Mahamudra accomplishment by relying solely on the seven dharmas of posture, this is my connected lama.
