There are three types of prostration: outer, inner, and secret. Outer prostration is like that of ordained people, etc., with each person's attire being dignified. First, stand up straight, extend both hands horizontally, palms together at the crown of the head, then touch the forehead, throat, and heart in sequence. The palms, forehead, and five points of the knees touch the ground, which is the five-wheel prostration. When meeting a lama or khenpo, embrace their feet with both hands, touching the knees with the forehead. This is the prostration of embracing from the ankles, which is not popular in Tibet nowadays. Unbind the hair, remove the headdress, wear the dharma robe and bone ornaments, chant loudly, and prostrate. This is said to be the inner prostration. In a place without ordinary people, in the mandala of deities and lamas, prostrating naked is the secret prostration, which is to make up for the deficiencies in vows. Wearing a coarse cloth garment, holding the breath, the body leaps into the air, the body faces down and lies on the ground. The hands, right and left, in order, touch the ground three times each, the feet, left and right, three times each, and the head touches the ground three times. This is called the great prostration, which is the custom of acharyas and realized beings. It is the supreme method for purifying obscurations. If one is not proficient in the winds, it may lead to broken legs and feet, or yellow water disorder leading to paralysis. It is best to regularly perform the five-point prostration. Inner confession includes general confession and universal confession, as well as the confession text from the "Golden Light Sutra," and the confession practices of "Longchen Nyingtik," etc. In particular, reciting the Vajrasattva Hundred Syllable Mantra is most excellent. With the mind, visualize the objects to be confessed and the person who can confess, and confess in the emptiness of non-attachment. Thus, with the three doors of body, speech, and mind, striving for the method of confession is the power of applying the opponent force. Since it is possible to confess sins in this way, if one still thinks that even if one creates sins again, one can confess, then that is wrong, because confession will not purify. Therefore, from now on, even if faced with death, do not commit those sins again, and be sure to make a firm determination. This is called the power of regret. Thus, confessing with the four powers complete will purify all sins. For example, Sorong Retreng (referring to Acharya Kamalashila) killed nine hundred and ninety-nine nagas, as well as killing his unborn mother and father, and killing his knowledgeable mother, etc. There are many historical accounts of sins that were purified through confession.

Ga Chen During the transmission of the great instruction, All ordinary sentient beings, Initially have sin and no virtue, In the middle, have virtue and sin, Finally, have virtue and no sin. I heard it spoken thus from his mouth. What is having sin and no virtue? It refers to those who have not entered the Dharma, Their destination is only the three lower realms. What is having virtue and sin? It refers to most who have entered the Dharma. Even if they haven't broken the four root vows of the 253 Vinaya precepts, They still commit downfalls and misdeeds like rainfall. Even if they don't abandon the Bodhisattva's training and the desire to attain Buddhahood, They still constantly accumulate many downfalls, etc. Even after receiving the four empowerments of Secret Mantra, Even if they don't abandon the deity, mantra, and guru, Their vows are constantly decaying. However, with the pure root vows, They are included in the ranks of the Buddha's teachings, And although the benefits and virtues are vast, Due to subtle downfalls and misdeeds, They create many causes for taking the evil bodies of nagas and animals, etc. Therefore, it is crucial to constantly confess. Even if small sins and downfalls occur, They should not be despised as harmless. Even a small amount of potent poison can cut off life. Even an enemy who hates in this life, Can only kill once. However, the sin of killing once, Can cut off one's own life, The number being one less than a thousand times. Even an enemy with great hatred, Can only boil and burn once. However, sin can boil and burn for eons. Therefore, the enemy is sin, The method of subduing it, Is to strive diligently in this. Thus spoke Raga Asya. Ema! We sentient beings, All have the same mind of desiring happiness, But ordinary people who have not obtained the sacred Dharma, Do not know the method of accomplishing happiness, Desiring to obtain happiness in this life, They commit non-virtuous and sinful deeds. For example, like an ignorant child, Wishing to make their skin white, They smear it with dirt. Just as dirt cannot make the skin white, Sin cannot bring happiness. The source of happiness is virtue, Accumulating merit brings happiness. The three lower realms and the other three continents, People in border regions do not know how to accumulate merit. We are born in a place where the sacred Dharma flourishes, Now is the time in all lifetimes, To accomplish happiness. For example, all householders, Engage in trade, agriculture, livestock,
