Those who hold this (teaching), now virtuous friends spread across the earth. It is said to be the Mahamudra of the Sutra tradition. Lord Milarepa and, the heart-son Rangjung Dorje, etc., the view of the two, Mahamudra and Dzogchen, is that the essence of the ground and the result is without difference, the nature of mind is inherently Buddha. Abiding is the naked Dharmakaya, awareness clear and empty is the perfect Sambhogakaya, movement is the compassionate Nirmanakaya, inseparable Svabhavikakaya. Movement is ignorance and conceptual thought, awakening is non-conceptual wisdom. From the initial manifestation of the nature of mind, up to the great bliss of non-meditation, there is nothing to point out as abiding or moving. From the initial learning of the alphabet, to the many scriptures of the Kangyur and Tengyur, it is impossible without the alphabet. Therefore, if you understand well and do not abandon the practice of abiding and moving, there is nothing better than that. Obstacles and deviations arise, also because of subtle conceptual clinging. If you know how to leave it naturally without fabrication, there will be no obstacles or deviations. All Tibetan and Chinese accomplished ones, are liberated through practicing this. From Vajradhara to the present, it is transmitted from ear to ear, it is transmitted from heart to heart, the bridge of accomplished ones has never been broken. All Sutras and Tantras scriptures, by means of the speculation of scholars of characteristics, cannot understand the meaning by analyzing with reason. Therefore, one's own mind is the Dharmakaya, leave it naturally without fabrication. The learned cannot understand this, sharp intelligence cannot understand this, those with strong desires cannot understand this. Even if a great person is in a dangerous place, they cannot understand this. The karmic residue of past habits awakens, and arises through the power of faith and blessing. Therefore, faith and prayer are important. The song of each wish of abiding and moving. Spoken on the second day of the red side of the middle summer of the Horse year. Please practitioners do not be ashamed. ༈ །།Namo Mahamudra ye. First, after recognizing abiding and moving, practice Samadhi with the key points of the body. Moving is like a wild horse without reins, running from the mountain and jumping in the valley. Moving is like an ignorant child, doing what should not be done, chattering incessantly. Moving is like an old woman monkey, restless, like many birds and eagles. Moving is like a feather on a mountain top, blown by the wind and wandering everywhere. Moving is like water on a mountain, not staying for a moment.

Oḍ ḍhug ḍhug ḍhug. Movement is like the wind in space. Without obstruction, it pervades everywhere. Movement is like a wild horse escaping. If you hold it, it runs away; if you leave it, it stays. Movement is like the consciousness in the bardo. Without obstruction to earth, stones, mountains, and rocks. Movement is like fierce gods and demons. With just a thought, it circles the three thousand worlds. Movement is like an old woman herding sheep. Staying is not safe, the mind is uneasy. Staying for a moment brings joy to the mind. For those who are diligent and have great perseverance, View movement as an enemy and block it. If diligence is too great, Life-force wind will arise. At that time, the guru's instructions are needed. Do not view movement as a fault. Whatever moves, just let awareness be enough. If one movement is recognized, Then one wisdom will arise. For a hundred movements, there are a hundred wisdoms. For a thousand movements, there are a thousand wisdoms. The more movements, the better. In general, there are two: movement and abiding. Like water and waves, There is no difference between good and bad. These two, movement and abiding, Are your own mind, without difference. The nature of mind is originally the Dharmakaya. If not realized, it is delusion, The co-emergent ignorance. Movement is the conceptual thought of ignorance, Which causes one to fall into the ocean of samsara. If realized, it is self-aware wisdom, The path to liberation. Without choosing between abiding and movement, Practicing whatever arises is true practice. If movement is too wild, Relaxing the body and mind is the instruction. Maintain the session by observing. This little song sung when the first experience arises, Is spoken for the benefit of the beginners. Elders, please do not be offended. Mangalam! Namo Mahamudra ye. Sanskrit Romanization: Namo mahāmudrāye, Literal Chinese Meaning: Homage to Mahamudra) If abiding and movement are continuously guarded, Then when the second experience arises, The mind is like the moon and stars gathering and shining. Sometimes slow, sometimes busy. The mind is like water in a valley, Sometimes still, sometimes turbulent. The mind is like a child walking alone, Sometimes sitting, sometimes running. When abiding, the mind is happy and joyful. When turbulent, unhappy and dissatisfied. Without distraction, continuously cultivate, When abiding, look directly at its essence. When turbulent, relax the body and mind and observe. At this time, it is best to meditate in solitude. If you observe for too long, you will get tired afterwards. You will become bored, and meditation will become unpleasant. Short periods, many times, observe repeatedly. Although the observer and the observed are one, They will appear to be separate. Outward
