And so on. Wherever it is not clear, there is a fault; wherever it is clear, there is a virtue. All names and forms, one by one, are clearly defined, and the sutras say that each has its own benefit. Therefore, for the body color and decoration, from the crown of the head to the lotus seat, clearly define each one and focus the mind. Focusing on each place is the method of cutting off distractions, which is the supreme peace. Sometimes the whole body is clearly manifested and the mind is focused, without making separate observations, which is the method of cutting off distractions. Although various images are manifested in this way, pure mindfulness is very important. The colors and costumes of the Buddhas are symbols of the Dharma. In the perfect enjoyment land, there is no need to speak the Dharma with the mouth, and the retinue can understand the meaning of the Dharma just by seeing the body color and costumes. One face represents the Dharmakaya, and one face represents the symbol. Two faces represent the Dharmakaya and the Rupakaya. Three faces represent the three bodies. Four faces represent the four kinds of dance bodies. Two hands represent method and wisdom. Four hands represent the four immeasurable minds. Six hands represent the six paramitas. Two feet represent the abandonment of the two extremes. Four feet represent the four ways of gathering. With decorations of silk and jewels, all virtues are perfectly complete. All the wrathful attire is a symbol of subduing all arrogance. Such symbolic meanings should be understood. Detailed content is explained in the respective sadhana rituals and praises. In this way, no matter which deity is meditated on, its essence is emptiness, and its nature is luminosity. Meditate like a rainbow in the sky. In this way, all errors can be cut off, arrogance can be strengthened, and blessings can arise. The self-body is originally the yidam deity, which is said in all the tantras. Therefore, one should have a firm conviction and pride that one is the real deity. Clear image, pure mindfulness, and firm pride, when the three are complete, it is the supreme generation stage. The sutra system requires three countless kalpas, without accumulating merit and purifying obscurations, there will be the fault of not being able to attain Buddhahood. The fault of not recognizing the self-body as the deity. In Anuttarayoga, one can attain Buddhahood in one lifetime, and meditating on the self-body as the deity is very profound. Therefore, whether the sutra and tantra are profound or not exists in the key of the generation stage. This key small tune of the generation stage was immediately spoken by Raga Asya. Auspicious! Homage to Mahamudra! Nowadays, there are many people who ask for teachings, claiming to be practitioners.

So-called (Zer Mang) gentlemen! There are few who develop Samatha (tranquility meditation) without faults. After adjusting the body posture and so on, those huge ignorant conceptual thoughts are the factors that cause one to fall into the ocean of Samsara. If you abide in non-conceptual wisdom, you abide in non-conceptuality like the sky. As stated in the Ornament for Clear Realization, if the understanding of it goes astray, blocking the flow of thoughts so that they do not move, many people will cling to this as meditation. The eyes do not see forms, the ears do not hear sounds, and all unconscious conceptual thoughts cease. The mind does not remember anything, and remains blank for a long time. This is only a sign of rebirth. Know that this is not meditation. If you think this is meditation and practice it, it is the cause of being born as an animal. There are many people who are born like this. Bears and marmots practice it, and with the blessing of three months, their bodies are without hunger or cold, but live plumply. There is that much merit in that! After adjusting the body posture, do not meditate on anything in the mind, but rest the awareness in the heart center. Pull back the scattered conceptual thoughts, and do not restrict them no matter where they go. It is considered good to stay without remembering anything. Good thoughts should not be remembered, for if you remember them, you will be reborn in the heavenly realms, where there is also the suffering of birth and death. Evil thoughts should not be remembered, for if you remember them, you will be reborn in the lower realms, where there is immeasurable suffering. Do not practice virtue, do not abandon evil, and if nothing moves in the mind, this is attaining liberation. This is the view of the Chinese monk Hwashang, which is said to be a wrong view. These two are the confusions of Samatha, and are Samatha with faults. In the sky in front of you, visualize the Sage (Shakyamuni Buddha) or Amitabha Buddha, etc., and focus on them with one-pointed attention. If the awareness is very scattered, focus on the lotus and moon seat in the lotus position. If the awareness is dull and unclear, focus on the white hair between the eyebrows or the crown of the head. Pull back the scattered thoughts and place them on top of that. By meditating in this way for a long time, wherever the awareness is focused, it will not be scattered there, and it will abide for a long time. This is called Samatha with signs, and it is the arising of Samatha according to the Sutra tradition. Similarly, focus the awareness on the heart mantra (ཐུགས་སྲོག་,梵文:हृदय,罗马拟音:hṛdaya, meaning: heart) of your own Yidam deity, the letter Hum (ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,meaning: Hum) or Hrih (ཧཱི,梵文天城体:हीः,梵文罗马拟音:hīḥ,meaning: Hrih), and abiding without scattering for a long time is Samatha. Not remembering anything in the mind, and resting relaxed, one's own mind will not scatter anywhere, but will abide peacefully.
