The movement of the earth. There is no need for discussion or advice. The minister, possessing divine eyes, excavates all the treasures beneath the earth, filling the king's treasury completely. There is no need to gather tribes. When the first wheel-turning king appears, it is the silver wheel that descends, bringing all three continents under his rule. When bronze appears, two continents come under his rule. When iron appears, he alone rules Jambudvipa. All of these possess the seven royal emblems. Even without the seven royal emblems, one can rule half of Jambudvipa through the fruits of generosity. He is called a wheel-turning king by virtue of his power. Otherwise, all kings should be considered kings of small countries. The Brahmin caste abstains from meat and alcohol, observing the eight-branch precepts until the age of forty. They are skilled in sound and poetic treatises, diligently making offerings to Brahma. Their retinue also includes hundreds and thousands of Brahmins. That is an excellent race. The race called "Jew" is the race of ministers. The common people are ordinary folk. Both the Jew race and the common people possess merit. Those called "householders" possess hundreds and thousands of storehouses of gold, silver, and grain, being very wealthy and happy. The race of Han Chinese is a low caste. The central language is called "Yalong," and the language of Kham is called "Jamba," which is sinful. The unvirtuous engage in unvirtuous deeds. Thus, Jambudvipa has five races, twenty-four large regions, one thousand and two small regions, three hundred and sixty ethnic groups, seven hundred and twenty languages, one hundred and eighteen border regions, and one thousand and two further border regions. In most border regions and further border regions, the sacred Dharma does not flourish. Birth, old age, and death are possessed by all human beings. Disease, evil spirits, enemies, and untimely death are common among the people of the three continents. The difficulty of searching for what does not exist and the suffering of maintaining what exists are unique to the people of Jambudvipa. If these are calculated in detail, it is said that there are eighty sufferings. Great Compassionate Avalokiteśvara, I pray that I and all who have obtained human bodies may be protected by Great Compassion from the suffering of birth, old age, sickness, and death. As soon as life ends, may there be no suffering, and may all times be a place of happiness. In that Pure Land of Sukhavati, please guide us, Noble Avalokiteśvara. The happiness of humans

A Song of Remembering Suffering. On the seventh day of the Horse Year, Bird Month, May this writing benefit beings. Ema Ema, how wondrous! The happiness of gods and humans is impermanent and changes. The end of birth is death, the end of building is collapse, The end of gathering is separation, the end of flourishing is decline. The suffering of the lower realms is unbearable, Even fame and renown will cut the rope of hell in the long run. In countless lifetimes, Even having experienced such suffering, Now we don't remember and don't know fear. If the fire is not extinguished, it will burn out, Red-hot iron will stick to the ground, And boiling copper water must be drunk, Having done so for countless millions of years. Isn't it still not enough to be weary? The tears wept for the death of relatives and friends, If accumulated, would be like an ocean. Even if the heads of enemies were cut off and piled up, Even if they were equal to the mountains, Those who kill will become relatives, Friendly companions will be born as enemies who kill. Wheel-turning kings and lords of the gods, Having been born as powerful ones, will again Become insects, worms, dogs, pigs, blind beggars. Even if for thousands and millions of years, The happiness of gods and humans is attained, Still there is not even a little contentment. Hundreds of millions of times, Having experienced the suffering of birth and death, Still there is no thought of renunciation. Still there are billions of eons, And countless, inexpressible, inconceivable ones, There is no end, the wheel turns. The suffering is vast and the numbers are many, Like the wrinkles on the water, Deep and without a time for liberation, The ocean of samsara is terrifying. The waves of birth, old age, sickness, and death churn, Many crocodiles of the five poisons of affliction. Gods, humans, and asuras, The three realms of higher states, although temporarily happy, Cannot remain for long, suffering will arise. Hell beings, hungry ghosts, and animals, the three lower realms, The suffering of the lower realms is manifest, Not included in the six realms, The consciousness of the bardo, the mind-body, At the age of eight, Wherever born in the six realms, they have colors, Those with merit have large bodies, And light pervades the earth, Those of middling merit have bodies and light that are middling, Those of the lowest merit are at the age of eight, And the light only illuminates the path, The measure of life is seven days, Then they die and are born again. Every seven days, on that day, Morning, evening, midnight, etc., They die at the time they died before. If the place of rebirth is not settled, Then again the mind-body of the bardo arises.
