Homage to Muniye! Homage to the Crown of the Shakyas! Please, all fortunate ones, consider this! The number of beings born in the three lower realms Is like the number of dust particles on this great earth. While those born as gods and humans in the higher realms Are like the number of dust particles on a fingernail. In the three continents, including the Body Continent, Even if born, there is no opportunity for Dharma. Even if born in this Jambudvipa, In border regions or even more remote places, Even if born, there is no opportunity for Dharma. Now we have obtained the leisure and fortune of a human body, Met the teachings and found a Lama, Such an excellent opportunity, Is difficult to find even in a hundred eons. Now is the time to practice the sacred Dharma, Even if you have the intention to practice the sacred Dharma, Because there is no certainty of life, If you do not immediately practice the sacred Dharma, Years and months will pass, and death will be near. You can feel the depletion of food and clothing, But few can feel the depletion of life. Many meaningless things are done, Recognizing the most needed sacred Dharma, There is never a time to accomplish the intention to practice. Diseases and evil spirits rage like a storm, Few can live to the end of their lifespan. Just when you think it won't come so soon, The messengers of the Lord of Death suddenly arrive. The power of rituals and medicine wanes, Even knowing you are going to die, there is nothing you can do. The body is tormented by severe pain, The mind is filled with delusions, great fear and panic, Not having accomplished the sacred Dharma, there is great regret. All the joys and sorrows of this life, Are forgotten like a dream of last night. You inevitably walk the perilous path of the Bardo, Good and evil follow you like a body and its shadow. Relatives, food, and wealth are left behind, Great expectations, but difficult to help. The clear mirror of good and evil karma appears, There is no place to lie or plead. Heat and cold, suffering is unbearable, Even if you die a thousand times, you will be reborn. Until negative karma and obscurations are exhausted, No matter what you do, it is difficult to be liberated. Pretas suffer from hunger and thirst, without freedom, The rivers appear as flames, The rain appears as iron arrows and poison arrows. Animals are foolish and mute, devouring each other, Innocent lives are separated from precious jewels. Gods, humans, and asuras, Although there is some temporary happiness, It is like food mixed with poison, Brief happiness followed by suffering. Thus, in the six realms of samsara, From one realm to another, circling around, Therefore it is called samsara. Birth, old age, sickness, and death, Suffering is vast and numerous, Therefore samsara is called the ocean of suffering, It is without end.

Therefore, samsara is said to be endless. The only refuge from it is the Three Jewels. Therefore, diligently take refuge morning and night. All sentient beings in the six realms are our parents from many lifetimes, and they are the only ones who possess kindness. In order to establish them in happiness, cherish the thought of generating bodhichitta. All the sufferings of samsara arise from sinful actions. Confess the sins committed in the past. All the happiness of samsara and nirvana arises from virtuous actions. Therefore, strive to do good as much as possible. All experiences and realizations arise when the blessings of the guru are infused. Therefore, continuously pray. The difference between sentient beings and Buddhas lies in the purity and impurity of one's own mind. Practice pure perception towards all beings without partiality. The presence or absence of practice also lies in the difference between distraction and non-distraction. Look at the essence of your own mind without distraction. Keep these in the heart of Serlingpa. Thus it is said. This is called the preliminary song of guidance, the iron hook of the mind. The great Brahmin Sarahah (Saraha). Although transcending humanity, he guides beings in human form, possessing great compassion. I prostrate to the kind guru. Old Acharya Serlingpa, if you wish to cultivate the practice of Mahamudra, abandon the thought of wanting to cultivate this. Discard the small doubts of not listening. Cut off the expectation of wanting to generate good meditation. Do not follow everything that was done in the past. Stop thinking about what to do in the future. Look nakedly at the original mind of the present, without modification. Even if you don't see it, it is bright. It is not existence, there is no substance. It is not non-existence, the mind is clear. Naked, bare, and open. That is the Great Seal. Do not seek it externally, Serlingpa. Even if it does not stay and runs in all directions, the wave is water, the essence is the same. Scattering is not a fault, Serlingpa. Sometimes it is unclear and turbid, just like the brightness and darkness of the sky. There is no difference between clarity and unclearness. It is enough to see one's own nature. Do not desire clarity and goodness, protect whatever arises, Serlingpa. Sometimes it feels happy and good. Sometimes it feels clear, empty, and bare. Sometimes it feels empty like the sky. Even if realization seems very profound, do not generate pride, Serlingpa. Sometimes doubts and double-mindedness arise. Obstacles.
