Like a bad dream I have, It won't be long, it will quickly vanish. Hopes and worries, many thoughts are swirling around. Whatever the outcome, the Three Jewels know, pour out your heart. When physical illness and pain arise, Stare intently at the mind that thinks, "I am sick." It appears empty and bare, without substance. Doubts that meditation is ineffective, cast them aside. Rest naturally in an uncontrived, undistracted state. That thought, "I am sick," where did it first come from? Where will it ultimately go, and where does it reside now? Observe! It is the Dharmakaya, free from arising, ceasing, and abiding. The thought of wanting to get well, cast it aside. Transform the illness itself into the core of meditation. Take all the suffering of the six realms of beings, Especially all the diseases of beings, And completely dissolve them into the place where you are sick. The thought of being happy if the illness gets better, cast it aside. May all beings have the aspiration to be happy. All the suffering of this life and the next, Is the result of negative karma accumulated in past lives. Even for small negative deeds, avoid them like poison. Discrepancies between words and actions, cast them aside. Continuously engage in purification, Vajrasattva meditation and recitation. Thus, these words that I have spoken, At that time, in times of happiness, consider them as friends, Without integrating the meaning of the words into your own heart, Just making empty complaints, cast them aside. Strive to put these meanings into practice. When the powerful Lord of Death arrives, The body, relatives, fields, houses, wealth, and possessions, Take them in your mind and offer them to the Three Jewels. Attachment, clinging, and clinging in the mind, cast them aside. Without attachment, abide in the state of practice. To Orgyen (Padmasambhava) and Amitabha above your crown, Not just in words, but pray from the depths of your heart. At this time, practice transference (phowa), meditation is also of great benefit. Loving last words and idle chatter, cast them aside. In the state of practice, focus your awareness one-pointedly. The stages of dissolution of the four elements, white light, red light, etc., Whatever illusions, fears, and appearances arise, Do not be distracted, observe the mind that is afraid. Other distractions besides that, cast them aside. Let whatever arises die in an uncontrived state. Like the ground luminosity, like a clear sky, When it appears to you, immediately recognize it, And in its state, relax without contrivance. Fear of emptiness, cast it aside. That is called the Dharmakaya of death.

In order to confirm that, as a sign of the deceased, The corpse's complexion remains bright and does not fade for a long time. The external sign is that the sky is clear and bright. At this time, cast far away the cries of relatives. Create a protection that prevents the corpse from being touched. After that, if the mental body of the bardo arises, Visualize your own body as whatever deity of the generation stage. Meditate on appearances as being like a rainbow, without inherent existence. Cast far away the fear of peaceful and wrathful deities. After that, the bardo appears as the Sambhogakaya. The sign of that is that rainbow lights appear in the sky, Body relics, letters, and so on, many or at least one will definitely appear. Relatives and friends should also cast far away their grief. In the bardo, liberation is attained, what need is there for suffering? Easy to be reborn and with immeasurable qualities, In the western Pure Land of Sukhavati, Cultivate the aspiration to go there without hesitation. Cast far away the doubt of whether to be born or not. That will result in being born as a Nirmanakaya. Even now, cultivate that aspiration. Continuously obtain the aspiration to be born there. Dedicate whatever virtue you do for that purpose. Cast far away the thought of not being reborn like me. Whatever prayers are made will be quickly fulfilled. This heart advice, which contains the three faults to be abandoned, Is written from the heart with a good intention of benefiting others. Cast far away the evil thought of dismissive, wrong views that think it is like a song of deceitful flattery. Practice the heart advice as the essence of your heart. This was written by the mantra holder Tsewang Tashi, who was tormented by a severe illness for a long time. Although the illness did not improve much, the pain lessened and the recitations increased. Now he said he wanted to write a generation stage of Phowa practice that he liked, so A-rags wrote and offered it during a break from meditation. Homage to the Three Jewels. Rejoice in the aspirations and prayers of the Buddhas of all directions and times, And the virtues of the three times of samsara and nirvana. Likewise, through the power of rejoicing in virtue and, The river pervading space benefiting beings, From now until the end of the kalpa, May the six-syllable mantra spread wherever the river flows. Until the end of the kalpa, whoever drinks that water, Sees, hears, and hears the sound of the water, And where that water flows into the ocean and spreads, And the vapor from it, the clouds and fog, And where the rain and snow from it fall and spread, The insects.
