May this be auspicious! From beginningless time until now, relying on the support of the human body, accumulating wonders such as magical powers, strength, abilities, and miracles. From this support of the body, may the teachings of secret mantra flourish, and may those who receive empowerment and guidance gain a firm foundation in the generation stage, progress in recitation and accomplishment, and realize ordinary awareness nakedly. May wisdom be perfected and directly seen, and may the obstacles of demons, obstructors, and evil spirits be pacified. Like a great river of Dharma lineage, may there be someone who upholds the life force of practice and teaching. Great Orgyen, may you know! The twenty-five disciples, may you know! The hundred root treasure revealers, may you know! Empowerment, Dharma teaching, and benefiting beings as well, the vows are now nearing completion. In these ten or so months, may great benefit for beings be accomplished, and may there be no obstacles to that. Black Protector named Crow, may you know! Chief Queen of the Desire Realm, may you know! Hermaphrodite Father, Mother, and Children, may you know! Oath-bound Dharma Protectors, do not be distracted! Thus he spoke. On a night staying in Sachor, in the state between meditation and dream, a white man riding a white horse, wearing a white felt robe and a white hat, I thought it was the lord of men coming to greet me. Through the kindness of Lord Padmasambhava, although I have no ability, could it be that the retinue of the Naga Lord White Protector is coming to greet me? As soon as I came back inside, the wisdom of realization for the lord of men, which was born in the previous year, immediately became clear and vivid in my mind. These various appearances of objects that are grasped externally, like the moon and stars appearing in the ocean, are each clear yet of one essence. Like salt dissolving in water, all of them are of one taste, emptiness. This confused awareness that grasps internally, though thoughts arise in various ways, is of one essence. The meaning is that innate wisdom is unchanging. Above is the mind vajra of all Buddhas, below is the mind essence of all sentient beings, and in between are the three mind essences of me, the yogi. These are inseparable, innate great bliss. Its essence is emptiness, the supreme guru. Its nature is clarity, the yidam deity. Its compassion is unceasing, the assembly of dakinis. The meaning is that the all-creating king is one's own mind. Now, open the treasure of the precious mind, and ease of mind is the kindness of the guru. Thus thinking

Just as it comes, even the arrogant one is easily liberated without hindrance. To the west where the government officials reside, at the border where experience and dreams intertwine, the sun rises from the expanse of the eastern sky. Written for the sake of experiencing wonderful slowness. Pages 305 to 350. From the teachings of the Abhidharma, the outer world is impermanent. In this present time, the eon is destroyed by fire. From the first dhyana downwards, not even the ashes of what is burned remain. Like butter being consumed by fire. After seven great eons are destroyed by fire, then it is destroyed by water, from the second dhyana downwards. Like salt dissolving in water, not even the residue of what is destroyed remains. Thus, it is destroyed by water seven times, then it is destroyed by wind, from the third dhyana downwards. Like ashes being carried away by the wind, not even the remnants of what is destroyed remain. This is how the outer eon is impermanent, as taught in all the sutras and tantras. In particular, in the Dzogchen tantras, the three elements of fire, water, and wind destroy the eon. Especially after the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha are complete, before the teachings of Maitreya Buddha come, after being destroyed by fire, water, and wind, it remains empty for a hundred years, and for five hundred years it is said to be inhabited. This is how the minor eon is destroyed. When the lifespan reaches ten years, fire burns plants and crops, wind destroys, and water floods. For a hundred years, sentient beings and the environment are devoid of all happiness. Then the happiness of the environment and the increase of sentient beings, the essence of the earth and crops, etc., are like a pure land. It can exist for countless years, and from the time when the lifespan decreases to eighty thousand years, Maitreya will come. The views of the sutras and tantras are not contradictory. Seeing the great village of Samdrub Gyalmo (藏文地名) of the thousand chieftains destroyed, a firm understanding arises of the impermanent changes of the environment and sentient beings, recognizing the essential point of having no meaning, constantly remembering impermanence and death, and a strong sense of renunciation and detachment arises. Meditating on impermanence and death in such a place will quickly give rise to realization. A firm understanding arises of the meaning of what is said. Therefore, it is immediately written down.
