顶礼 洛给夏ra(藏文:ལོ་ཀེ་ཤྭ་ར་ཡེ།,梵文天城体:लोकेश्वरये,梵文罗马拟音:lokeśvaraye,汉语字面意思:世自在)。

The opening words printed in the book. Homage to Lokeshvara. I pray to the inseparable lama and yidam, Chenrezig. Please bless me to generate experience and realization. I have no other hope, please look upon me with compassion. In response to what was said by the resident Tsewang Bum, "Please bestow the means to dispel obstacles": Aren't all the old and new sutras, tantras, and treatises simply for dispelling obstacles? Even if you obtain a leisure and fortune human body, you don't incline your mind towards the sacred Dharma. You engage in the three poisons and non-virtue as much as you can. It's like a madman jumping into water. The obstacle of creating a cause to go to the lower realms, Many are deceived by this obstacle. Therefore, the instruction for dispelling obstacles is: From the wish-fulfilling jewel, think about how difficult it is to obtain a human body. If you can't practice the Dharma this time, then returning empty-handed from the precious island, think that it is without essence and without meaning. Enemies, friends, happiness, suffering, etc. of this life, although they are not important enough to endure, think that they are just like a dream. Except for the two, virtue and non-virtue, enemies, friends, enjoyment, wealth, prosperity, decline, good and bad words, etc., nothing will follow you. Think that you will go alone. From countless eons in the past, even though countless Buddhas have come, like the sun in the cave of Jangten, if they have not benefited you, then feel weary of wandering in samsara. Now that you have met the teachings and the lama, at this time when you receive empowerment, guidance, and instructions, if you don't even grasp the essence of the path, then think that samsara is endless. By thinking like that again and again, your mind and heart will naturally enter the Dharma, and you will gain the benefit of grasping the essence of the path. Even if your mind has gone to the Dharma like that, inferior people are distracted by seeking food and clothing, intermediate people are busy with farming and making a living, great people are distracted by subduing enemies and protecting friends. Now that I have accomplished this important thing, I think I will practice Dharma when I have free time later. Activities are like ripples in the water, one after another, there is no free time. Life is exhausted in the state of thinking "I will do it". Even if you want to practice Dharma and know how to practice, it is an obstacle when there is no time to accomplish it. Therefore, meditate on impermanence and death. Count the number of dead people, so many young people have died. Since there is no certainty of old and young, kings, ministers, and great people have passed away without the benefit of medicine and rituals. Since there is no way to prevent death, in this time of the five degenerations, life is short, diseases are many, and obstacles are fierce.

Sudden interruptions and deaths are many, Which comes first, tomorrow or the next year? Next month or the later day, I have no certainty which will come first. Therefore, among all other activities, Practice the sacred Dharma with great importance. Even if you cannot abandon this life, In the practice of the sacred Dharma as the main thing, Treat this life as merely something to accomplish along the way. Even if you die immediately after doing that, You will gain the benefit of contentment and peace of mind. Because you have not heard the sacred Dharma of cause and effect, If you know the benefits and drawbacks, Not abandoning sins and not doing good deeds, Is like a senseless child jumping into fire. Knowing the benefits and drawbacks, Not fearing sins and acting carelessly, Is like knowingly eating strong poison. Such confessions are difficult to purify. The obstacle of being burned in the Avici hell. Regarding that, in the Sutra of the Wise and the Foolish, etc., Generate faith in the Dharma of cause and effect. Even for children with the same parents, The length of life, happiness, and suffering, Are unequal, signs of individual karmic results. Although obtaining a human body is similar, The power, strength, and wealth, large and small, Are unequal, clear from observing karmic results. In this life and all future lives, The definite benefit is the virtuous Dharma as a friend, The definite harm is the non-virtuous sin as an enemy. Therefore, abandon sins and strive for virtue, The benefit of abandoning lower realms will arise. Even if you abandon sins and do good deeds in that way, If it is for the sake of desiring the happiness of gods and humans in the future, Even if you obtain the happiness you desire in hundreds, thousands, millions, and billions of lifetimes, Then that root of virtue will be exhausted, And you will wander endlessly in lower realms again. Not obtaining liberation is a great obstacle. In the past, you were also deceived by this obstacle. The supreme happiness of this world, Brahma, Indra, and the Universal Monarch, Even they must fall someday, What essence is there in samsara? Even the immediate, temporary happiness, Is like delicious food mixed with poison, Consider that the harm outweighs the benefit in the long run. Therefore, abandon the desire for the happiness of samsara, the result of abandoning sins and doing good deeds. Like a prisoner in a prison pit, Birth, aging, sickness, and death are countless. Fearing this, in samsara, Fix in your mind the thought of when you will be liberated. The benefit of obtaining liberation will arise. Even if you accomplish liberation in that way, Without compassion and the mind of enlightenment, Focusing only on your own benefit, Even after obtaining the Hearer or Solitary Realizer Arhat, Although you have abandoned the suffering of samsara.
