The generation stage appearing as the form of a deity is the life force of the Vajrayana. If one does not have a thorough realization, a middling experience, or even a basic understanding of this, one will not become a tantric practitioner. Furthermore, the way to stop self-grasping, the root of the cycle of existence in such a path, is as follows: In the "Samantabhadra Sadhana," it says: Other than the stream of ordinary conceptual thoughts, what other suffering of existence is there? There is none. The mind that is completely contrary to that, this is what becomes manifest realization. Whatever has a nature that is profound and vast, that does not turn into the appearance of all conceptual thoughts. So it is said. Menyakshab and Peldrak Dorje also said that the generation stage is taught as the antidote to the suffering of existence. To this, Master Taga said: All those who strive on the path of the generation stage, all are a means to be liberated from samsara, but this path does not liberate from samsara, because it does not abide in the state of no-self. In response to this argument, the above statement is the source. The so-called ordinary conceptual thought refers only to ordinary conceptual thought without the appearance of a deity, which the feet of Buddha Yeshe do not accept. The commentary Taga says: The conceptual thought of an ordinary person is the conceptual thought of self and what belongs to self. So it is said. Shantipa said: Here, the so-called ordinary imputation is said to be the act of speaking with the mind that has the aspect of grasping and holding onto self and what belongs to self, therefore it is closely designated as the suffering of the nature of existence, and is the main cause of the suffering of the nature of existence. This is the conclusion. Therefore, since self-grasping is the root of existence, the mind that is contrary to that is, Peldrak Dorje said: The mind in the form of a mandala wheel, that is realized to be manifestly contrary. So it is said, because at the time of generating the mind in the form of a deity, that ordinary conceptual thought, that self-grasping, does not appear at all. To this, some say that when that arises, because self-grasping is not seen, it cannot be stopped, just as the realm of infinite space will also be reversed. In response to this, Shantipa said: With the form of a mandala, the mind is a conceptual thought of an unreal form, therefore it is entering into all clarity. That also does not appear simultaneously.

Not only that. It is said. The realm of infinite space and so on, do not enter into the aspect of selflessness, because they do not turn away from seeing it as self. The suffering of its cause and condition also cannot be reversed. Moreover, here, the joy and death, etc., experienced from birth to birth are the truth of suffering. Its cause, seeing self as the head, etc., is the truth of origin. Its antidote, the wheel of the mandala, is the truth of the path. In order to completely eliminate the arising of suffering, the nature of the mind's continuum, abiding completely transformed is the truth of cessation, this is the ultimate truth in short. It is said that the realm of infinite space and so on, for the fool whose mind does not incline towards selflessness, cannot be liberated from existence. Here, with the mind having the form of a mandala, blocking the object of grasping as self, one enters into selflessness and destroys self-grasping. Let alone the union of generation and completion stages. Even fools of emptiness from beginning to end can gradually abandon self-grasping. In the "Accomplishing Means All Good," it says: Whatever is incompatible with whatever, even a single union can make it progress greatly, views and practices completely increase, and one's own incompatibility completely ceases. It is said. In short, generate certainty in the emptiness of no self-nature. Manifest as the mandala of the dependent and the depended upon. Profound emptiness manifests as the form of a deity. The yoga of the inseparability of depth and clarity is, the near path of unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, the antidote to the cause of self-grasping. So, here, the meaning of only speaking of the two stages of generation and completion is because the meaning of all the unsurpassed yoga tantras is contained within these two. In the "Two Examinations," it says: The generation stage itself and the completion stage itself, after the two stages abide equally, the Dharma of Vajradhara is proclaimed. It is said. In the "Later Part of the Guhyasamaja Tantra," it says: The Dharma taught by the Buddhas is truly taught in two stages, namely the generation stage and likewise the completion stage itself. It is said. The root tantra is the object to be tamed by the two stages, the empowerment is the preliminary of the two stages, the two stages are the tamers, the two bodies are
