Now, the conduct is to leave the mind in self-liberation, self-illumination, and non-contrivance. Thus it is said. The conduct of appearance as the body is to transform whatever appears into the essence of the body. Thus it is said. The conduct of sound as speech is to transform whatever is heard into the sound of the six-syllable mantra of Great Compassionate Avalokiteśvara. Thus it is said. The conduct of memory and awareness as mind is to transform whatever arises and is remembered into the dharma nature of self-arising and self-liberation. Thus it is said. In the instructions of the incarnate king to the Nepalese princess, it is said: That which appears as one's own deity is also the deity of the mind. It is not intended to practice Great Compassionate Avalokiteśvara separately. The essence of the mind, emptiness, is the dharmadhatu. The appearance of a deity in that dharmadhatu is wisdom. The inseparability of dharmadhatu and wisdom is the body of Great Compassionate Avalokiteśvara. Thus it is said. In the nineteenth of the four-sentence instructions spoken by the incarnate king, it is said: The four methods of pointing out with examples are: Like a rainbow in the sky, Great Compassionate Avalokiteśvara Bhepa, point out that it is not a substantial thing, but appears without inherent existence, as "Bhe." Like the echo of a rock, recite the six-syllable mantra, pointing out the sound-emptiness dharma nature as one's own sound, as "Za." Like ice melting into water, point out that the five poisons and all thoughts arise from the unborn realm of dharma nature and are liberated in the dharmadhatu. Just as the form and color of an image made by a craftsman, no matter how beautiful, and the decorations, etc., no matter how they appear, the creator does not go beyond the craftsman himself, so no matter how the differences of body, speech, and mind of Great Compassionate Avalokiteśvara appear, the khenpo of Bhepa is made by one's own mind. Therefore, point out the deity as the mind, point out the mind as emptiness, and point out emptiness as the dharmakaya Great Compassionate Avalokiteśvara. Thus it is said. Like this, from the state of the three conducts and the union of generation and completion stages, perform all actions. The noble Nāgārjuna said: The combination of mantra and mudra, and the assembly of deities such as mandalas, all actions such as fire offerings and tormas, should always be performed as illusions. Pacifying, increasing, magnetizing, and subjugating, as well as empowerment and manifestation, and any actions such as summoning, should be in accordance with the realm of the root consciousness. Intimate actions such as coquetry, as well as reliance on songs and music, and proficiency in various arts, should be done like the moon in water. Forms, sounds, smells, tastes, and tangible objects, as well as the eyes, etc.

Entering (the main text). What need is there to say much here about the simile of illusion? The yogi of the Vajrayana, whatever object is to be focused upon, that is said to be like an illusion. As it is said, from the state of emptiness like the sky, the clear appearance of the deity must be raised like clouds and rainbows. Jñānakara said: "Having comprehended the Dharmadhatu of one's own mantra, from that which has become like the face of the sky, the nagas, through their blessings, with different colors and shapes, just as clouds arise in the sky, so does the body of the deity arise." Thus it is said. Therefore, even if worldly siddhis are attained through the generation stage of the deity that has abandoned emptiness, the form body cannot be attained. Even if the Dharmakaya is attained through emptiness alone, the form body does not arise, so the union of generation and completion is essential. The teacher Buddha Yeshe Zhap said: "Therefore, from the profound and clear mandala, I am always in nirvana. Because beings do not understand this meaning, they are tormented by the suffering of existence. Therefore, profound and clear enlightenment is liberated by non-dual thought." Thus it is said. And: "Completely free from all discriminations, extremely beyond the realm of thought and expression, immaculate like the sky, the source of all, profound beyond thought is just so." The holder of the Great Seal's dharani, like an illusion, like a rainbow, by taming one's own and others' continuums, is called true clarity. That supreme nature of non-duality, the lord who pervades all things, because samsara is not completely grasped, is said to be the Dharmadhatu. Thus it is said. And: "It is not enough to realize only the profound, clarity is also the same. Therefore, I do not trust those who desire liberation through extreme profundity. Therefore, by realizing the non-dual nature, one will surely attain the result in this life." Thus it is said, the generation stage must tame the three: birth, death, and the intermediate state. Emptiness is necessary for taming death, and the generation stage is the method for fully arising the realization of the completion stage, so if emptiness is not meditated upon, the wisdom of the completion stage will not arise. The generation stage is the path for the three kayas, so in order to make the Dharmakaya the path, emptiness must be meditated upon. If one does not constantly practice after gaining the view, one violates the samaya of the mind, so one must definitely be led to emptiness.
