Although it is permissible, the distinction lies in it being like unsurpassed yoga. Then, to encourage samadhi, the offering attendant should prostrate and request. If there is only one person, they should visualize a goddess emanating from their heart and then pray. One should recite oneself: From the Tsogkor composed by Kamalamaha: Then to the Vajra Master, offer flowers and pray. Then to the male and female yogis, scatter flowers and encourage. And, from the instructions of the Tsogkor composed by Dombi Heruka: Without offering flowers to the master, one should not sit on the ground. Without arranging the Karma Vajra and Vajramatri, one should not take a seat. Without praying, one should not abide in samadhi. Thus it is said. In Je Pak's Tsog Bum: The Karma Master, having prostrated, abides in samadhi, and requests the order of Dharma practice in accordance with the rules. And, Tsurphu Jamyang Chenpo said: One disciple prostrates three times, and in the center of the wiped mandala, places a torma. Prostrates three times, offers to the master a heap of flowers with incense sticks inserted. Scatters flowers to the disciples. Prostrates three times, saying: Vajradhara, etc., please listen. Etc., this verse and mantra, it seems, are extracted from the Kalachakra Offering Garland composed by Rangjung Dorje, which was recited from the Lechang Tsogrol. Regarding this, in Je Rangjung Dorje's Sadhana of the Nine Deities, there are three parts: preliminary, main part, and subsequent part. First, there are four parts to the preliminary. Up to here, it is the first and second part, which is refuge and bodhicitta. In general, the extensive explanation of refuge is the same as the common one, so it can be understood from elsewhere. Especially here, in order to practice the discipline with three vows, whichever of the eight types of Pratimoksha vows one takes, one must take refuge as the root. Because the root of all Pratimoksha is contained in refuge, this is the actual practice of taking the Pratimoksha vows. As it is said in the Seventy Verses on Refuge: The third is the Upasaka of refuge, that is the root of the lineage of vows. That is, with respectful body and intention joining palms. Not only oneself, but for the sake of saving all sentient beings from all suffering, from this time until enlightenment is attained, one takes refuge.

The objects of refuge, outwardly, are the teacher Shakyamuni Buddha, the thousand Buddhas of the fortunate eon, and others who have the form of an emanation teacher. The Dharma is the three baskets (Tripitaka), and the Sangha is the four pairs of eight types of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, namely, the Stream-enterer path and Stream-enterer fruition, the Once-returner path and Once-returner fruition, the Non-returner path and Non-returner fruition, the Arhat path and Arhat fruition, totaling eight. Also, solitary realizers like rhinoceros horns and those who practice in groups. Inwardly, the body of all Buddhas of the ten directions and three times is Vairochana, the speech is Amitabha, the mind is Akshobhya, the qualities are Ratnasambhava, and the activity is Amoghasiddhi and the five teachers. The Dharma is the four or six great tantra classes. The Sangha is the Vidyadharas who have attained the actual accomplishments of these. Secretly, since the body, speech, mind, qualities, and activity of all Buddhas are the nature of all, the root and lineage lamas are the mind of the Buddhas, the essence of the Great Seal, and speak the eighty-four thousand collections of Dharma, which are the gathering of all Dharmas, the emanation bodies that agree with each individual's mind. Therefore, the Sangha is the gathering of all, and we take refuge in the precious Guru, who is inseparable from Vajradhara himself. We take refuge in the three roots: the Ishtadevata, the ocean of Buddhas, the Dakinis, and the Dharma protectors. Furthermore, one should visualize the mandala of the ocean of Buddhas in the sky in front in an instant. On the crown of the head, Amitabha is inseparable from the Guru. Behind the main deity, stacked scriptures are visualized as the Sangha. Finally, the retinue dissolves into white light and merges into one's own crown. The Dharma books dissolve into red light and merge into the throat. The main deity dissolves into blue light and merges into the heart. Thus, one contemplates that the Three Jewels and one's own body, speech, and mind are inseparable. Since one's own mind naturally appears as Buddha, it is the Buddha Jewel. Since it appears as the nature of all Dharmas, it is the Dharma Jewel. Whoever realizes this is the Sangha Jewel. Knowing this and abiding in that state for a moment is the true refuge. Furthermore, the generation of Bodhicitta is as follows: From the Indian text of Jalandhara itself, it says, "Firstly, for the sake of taking sentient beings into compassion." And, the various examples of the self-arisen Lord.
