One will not lack food and wealth, and enjoyment will increase. Remembering my name, no one will be able to defeat you. Even if you go to a deserted monastery or a forest, you will not be disturbed by lions, tigers, leopards, bears, brown bears, wild yaks, poisonous snakes, and wild animals. Just remembering my name, all obstacles will flee. Even if you are thrown into a blazing fire, just remembering my name, it will turn into a pond filled with lotuses. Just remembering my name, you will not drown in water, you will not be carried away by water, and you will not be burned by fire. Whoever remembers my name, just seeing him, others will be delighted. You will not be suppressed by enemies, and you will not be harmed by poison. If you hear my name and remember it, they will not be able to have their essence stolen by gods, nagas, yakshas, kumbhandas, rakshasas, flesh-eaters, and pretas. You will not be harmed by the mantras of others. Thus it is said. The suffering of birds will not arise, the suffering of dwelling in the womb will not arise, moved by the taste of Dharma, one will be born miraculously in a lotus. To rely on the noble Avalokiteśvara as one's personal deity is to rely on that. In that Buddha-field, one will always hold and abide. In the Eleven-Faced Dhāraṇī of the Noble Avalokiteśvara, the Bodhisattva Mahāsattva Noble Avalokiteśvara said: Blessed One, holding my name is meaningful, it is superior to holding the names of billions of Buddhas. All sentient beings who hold my name will abide in the state of non-retrogression. They will be completely liberated from all diseases. They will be completely liberated from all obscurations and all misdeeds of body, speech, and mind. Thus. Also, in the White Lotus of the Sacred Dharma: If, with the intention to kill, even if one is in the midst of fire, abandoned by those who want to kill, if one remembers Avalokiteśvara, the fire will be extinguished as if sprinkled with water. Even if one has to cross the ocean and sorrow, in the abode of nāgas, spirits, and asuras, if one remembers Avalokiteśvara, one will never sink in the water. If, with an extremely hateful mind, one is thrown from the summit of Mount Sumeru, if one remembers Avalokiteśvara, one will abide in the sky like the sun. If vajras and wild animals come to the top of one's head with the intention to kill, if one remembers Avalokiteśvara, they will not be able to harm even a pore of hair. If one is surrounded by many enemies, holding swords with the intention to kill, if one remembers Avalokiteśvara, immediately one will be transformed into a mind of loving-kindness. If one is near to being killed, even if one is under the control of an executioner, if one remembers Avalokiteśvara, his weapons will be shattered into pieces. If one is bound by shackles made of wood or iron, or tied with ropes, if one remembers Avalokiteśvara, those bonds will be quickly untied.
