When the first Bhumi is attained, the qualities are truly manifest. Here, some say that through the swift path of mantra, attaining the Bhumi in a short time, the qualities do not truly appear. But if we take Maitreya as an example, because his qualities are not seen, is it necessarily the case that such a thing does not exist? That is what I think. In the "Instructions of the Boundless Ocean," it says: "The common accomplishments of practice, the blessings of Brahma and the Maras, and the three qualities of subduing the great earth, these are all similar, and their advantages and disadvantages should be understood separately." It also says: "Great beings abiding on the Bhumis, it is difficult to see the truth." Therefore, even if signs appear, it is difficult to distinguish them, and even if the Bhumi is attained, if the truth of that Bhumi is not seen, then the difference that the qualities do not truly appear is reasonable. In this regard, at the time of the Path of Seeing, the illusory body, the deity body, and luminosity appear inseparably. The signs are that various experiences, dreams, and so on will occur. In the "Illusion-like Path Stages," it says: "During sleep and at other times, in an instant, a moment, a short while, there are twelve hundred qualities: entering into a hundred samadhis, seeing the faces of a hundred Buddhas, hearing the Dharma from a hundred Buddhas, shaking a hundred world realms, going to a hundred Buddha lands, illuminating a hundred lands with light, maturing a hundred sentient beings, opening a hundred Dharma gates, abiding for a hundred kalpas, following before and after, knowing a hundred emanations of the body. Each body also has a hundred retinues surrounding it, showing the Dharma. For the sake of the Dharma, one can even give up one's life, so the qualities of desire become helpers. Completing the four kinds of generosity, one also does what one can of the rest. Having attained the Bhumi, one is free from the five fears: there is no harm, there is no death, one does not speak verses of bad destinies, one is free from the fear of retinues, and one abandons carelessness." Here it says that the qualities of body, speech, and mind each have four hundred, twelve are for taming worthy disciples, and when conditions are complete, they appear simultaneously or sequentially. For pure disciples, one truly emanates a mandala and shows it, Dakinis and Dharma protectors truly become retinues, one goes to Buddha lands and the twenty-four sacred places, etc., by means of miraculous powers, one grasps the sun and moon, one kneads and eats iron and stone like dough, and one is free from outflows.

Now, having slightly arisen clairvoyance, one can see the four continents, Mount Meru, etc., and the messengers of karma and spirits come to request the Dharma, and one can freely perform various transformations. Various disciples gather like clouds, and for those who are vessels and have devotion, it is like lighting the lamp of realization, opening the treasure for the benefit of beings. From the path of seeing to the tenth ground is the path of meditation. Yeshe Khandro said, "Bhelam (Tibetan, Devanagari, Roman transliteration, literal meaning) does not distinguish the meaning of illusion. The path of seeing is for the sake of meditation, therefore it is the path of meditation. The ground is between the second and tenth grounds." Thus it is said. All that is to be meditated on the path of meditation is the Noble Eightfold Path, which is right view that is free from objects, right understanding if one realizes that it is beyond the mind, right speech that is free from words, right mindfulness that is continuous, right livelihood that is nourished by the food of liberation, right effort that accomplishes the great meaning, right action that completes the task, and right concentration that is without equal or sequel. Je Glingre said, "The Noble Eightfold Path is the path of meditation, traversed by a single realization." Thus it is said. Regarding this, the way of counting from the ten grounds to the cloud of Dharma is the same in Sutra and Tantra. The Sutra way of counting is that the eleventh ground is the ground of Buddhahood. The Tantra way of counting eleven or twelve grounds is the way of the Action Tantra, Performance Tantra, and Yoga Tantra. Counting thirteen grounds is the common way of the Unsurpassed Yoga Tantra, as mentioned above. The uncommon way is the union of the Kama Kagyu's instructions and terma. It is closely related to the Dharma language of the Great Compassionate One, Gyalwa Gyatso (Dalai Lama). The explanation of the great accomplished Karma Pakshi is like the boundless ocean of instructions, saying that there are fifteen grounds, and those are not contradictory in meaning. Regarding the eleventh ground, it is just a way of explaining whether or not the various names are distinguished in detail. Regarding this, here, similar to the Great Compassionate One's instructions, the quintessence of the five chakras, the five root chakras exist inseparably as the five families of the Great Compassionate One and the palaces, the abodes of the six realms of beings. Those exist inseparably as wind and bindu, the deities of the five families of the Great Compassionate One, and the seeds of the six realms of beings. If the key point of practice is pressed, each of the five chakras has three knots of the channels, above, below, and in between.
