The complete purification is accomplished through the body mudra. Empowerment purifies the activities of each respective family. Recitation and so forth purify various worldly activities. Gathering the deities purifies the state of death and rebirth, which is: Gathering the mandala purifies the destruction of the outer world. Gathering the retinue into the main deity, and oneself entering into the nada emptiness, purifies the death of sentient beings, the inner essence. Furthermore, if one performs the empowerment of using the result as the path, it is similar to generating the deity through the five manifest enlightenments, becoming enlightened in Akanishta or Vajrasana. Empowerment is empowering the king of Dharma in the three realms, radiating and gathering light to benefit sentient beings. Recitation is turning the wheel of Dharma. Finally, merging into emptiness is in accordance with nirvana. Again, the illusory body is an unceasing emanation, which has been extensively explained above. The purification of the three poisons by the deities is also as follows: Wrathful Mother and Hayagriva and others purify anger. The retinue of the four Dakinis and others purify desire. The five main deities with marks and signs, the method of purifying ignorance with Bhairava, is also as explained in the Abhisamayalankara. Similarly, the nine moods of dance, such as the dancer and the hero, also purify the three poisons. The purification of the five poisons by color, shape, and hand gestures is as follows: All afflictions arise from ignorance, and just as mirror-like wisdom is the basis of the other three wisdoms, White is used to represent it because various colors can be applied to white. If anger arises, it is associated with blackness, and since the wisdom of the Dharmadhatu is unchanging, it is represented by dark blue. If desire arises, it turns red, and since discriminating wisdom clings to sentient beings, it is represented by the color red. Equality wisdom is represented by yellow, because miserliness holds onto possessions, and with possessions, arrogance arises, and the essence of possessions is precious jewels and golden light. Accomplishing wisdom is represented by the color green, because jealousy arises from various afflictions, and accomplishing wisdom is the activity of all wisdoms, and green also arises from the mixture of various colors. Thus, all five colors have what is to be purified and what purifies. Knowing this, contemplate the body of great compassion of each respective family, or contemplate the five families, and the five poisons are blessed into the five wisdoms.
