Having thus requested, the noble Avalokiteśvara, the Buddha whose lotus light radiates greatly, became invisible in his heart. From the profound tantra of unsurpassed yoga, the deep lotus, ends the first chapter, the introduction. The great one whose lotus light radiates greatly is white in color, with one face and four arms. The first two hands are joined in prayer at the heart. The right hand holds a five-pronged vajra, and the left hand holds a red lotus. All Avalokiteśvaras have the first two hands joined in prayer. The right hand holds a rosary, and the left hand holds a lotus. The four consorts each have one face and four arms. All goddesses have their hands joined in prayer. Buddha Locana holds a wheel and a lotus. Māmakī holds a jewel and a lotus. White Tārā holds both a white and a red lotus. Samaya Tārā, green Tārā, holds an utpala and a lotus. These are the hand symbols. Lotus Ḍākinī holds a lotus and a vase. Vajra Ḍākinī holds a vajra and a lotus. Ratna Ḍākinī holds a jewel and a lotus. Karma Ḍākinī holds a sword and a lotus. These are the hand symbols of the four Ḍākinīs. Rūpa Vajra holds a mirror and a lotus. Śabda Vajra holds a flute and a lotus. Gandha Vajra holds incense and a lotus. Rasa Vajra holds a begging bowl and a lotus. Sparśa Vajra holds clothing and a lotus. This concludes the second chapter on the colors and hand symbols of the deities. Then, the teacher Padmavajra, greatly smiling at the assembly, joyfully and diligently spoke about the essence of all secret mantras, proclaiming in words to those of fortunate lineage, that even if all obscurations arise, they can be led to a state of bliss. This profound meaning, I will declare to you. Listen, protector of beings. The body of the Sugata is not deceptive, all pure appearances are visible. The speech of the Sugata is not deceptive, the wise have faith. The mind of the Sugata is not deceptive, it blesses those with devotion. The assembly and others should listen. Generate great respect for this, and after making excellent prayer gestures, listen to the teacher with reverence. The teacher spoke excellently: Om Mani Padme Hum Just by the teacher saying this, all the Ḍākinīs, as numerous as the dust particles of Mount Meru, rejoiced and praised with dance and song, filling the sky and coming forth. The mandalas had different colors. Forty-six kotis and hundreds of thousands were all Buddhas of the lotus family.
