This should be considered. Similarly, Jetrung Chen Kunga Namgyal also criticized the town ritual performers a lot, saying, "Like Jetsun Milarepa, abandon this life, and suffer losses in food and clothing. If you abandon the practice of attaining Buddhahood in one lifetime and one body, the town ritual performers use smooth talk to deceive others." He criticized in this way because it was not that he said Sarvavid (ཀུན་རིག་) is not Dharma. Therefore, all the cards he made himself were made through this ritual, accumulating a large number of cards and burning them. He said, "For this Sarvavid (ཀུན་རིག་), I don't even have one person who can lift it, it's amazing." It is said. Later, the second Jetsun Gampopa, Drukchen Karma Tenphel, when he went to Gomde, said, "Is there anyone who dares to promise not to do the Sarvavid (ཀུན་རིག་) liberation ritual in the market?" It is said. This is because each liberation ritual of the nomads involves killing twenty or thirty lives. Such merit is not obtained by the deceased, but sin is obtained. The merit of the ritual is said to be obtained by the slaughtered animals, he was considering this point. If it is not possible to not slaughter, but to perform a pure ritual in the name of Karo (ཀར་གྲོ་), that is his intention. Because his sixth generation did not know how to send the fire god, the popularity of the liberation ritual decreased later, which caused great harm to the Dharma and sentient beings. Padampa said, "Building a colorful mandala in the courtyard of a householder is very dangerous," and so on. Similarly, Je Sangye Won also said: "Building a mandala in the courtyard, Vajradhara is delighted." He said that Tantra should be practiced in a secluded place, and building it in a town is very inappropriate. That is what he meant, not that these rituals are not Dharma. Similarly, many gurus who give instructions also criticize the town ritual performers. For example, even if you know Sarvavid (ཀུན་རིག་), you must first practice it yourself until signs of realization appear. To do this, you must give up this life to practice. If you don't do this, but focus on food and wealth as if for the benefit of others, and sell Tantra as a commodity, it is regrettable. That is what they said, not that Sarvavid (ཀུན་རིག་) is not Dharma. However, if you misunderstand this and develop disgust for the town ritual performers, this is not right, it is an act of abandoning the Dharma. Also, the venerable gurus regarding holding aདགོངས་ཞག་ (Tibetan) for the deceased,

Ah, the accusation is: From the Great Liberation Through Hearing in the Bardo, etc., if the ritual discipline is impure, the mind is mixed with afflictions, arrogance arises towards food and wealth, the ritual is impure, the samadhi is unclear, and the deceased, due to karmic forces, sees these with a faint manifestation of consciousness, they will think, "Alas, I have been deceived! Food and wealth have been wasted!" Thus, hatred arises, becoming a cause for going to the lower realms. This refers to that situation. If one possesses vows, the ritual is completely pure, good bodhicitta arises, the samadhi is clear, and the recitation is complete, observing the fast will have great benefits. It is said that the deceased, who was originally going to the lower realms, will also be reborn in the higher realms because of this. If they are born there, they can benefit beings. If one benefits beings, one pleases the Buddha. If one can please the Buddha and bring happiness to sentient beings, then there is nothing better than accumulating merit and purifying obscurations. Therefore, observing the fast accomplishes both one's own and others' benefit simultaneously. The appearance of food and wealth is superfluous, and other town rituals can be inferred from this. Relying on the emptiness ritual, can one fully accomplish the benefit of oneself and others? Will one go to the lower realms? Will the donor's possessions be wasted? These two depend on oneself. Because it is not solved by relying on the Kunrig (Sanskrit: कुनृक) ritual, one should understand. If one does not understand this, most wise and foolish people now think that observing too many fasts will accumulate impure views and the serious sin of abandoning the Dharma, and that not observing fasts for the deceased is helpless, and they attach great importance to this, which is also self-contradictory and laughable. If there are so many faults in observing fasts, then what is the point of accumulating those sins after the deceased? If there is merit in observing fasts, then mocking the accumulation of great merit and holding impure views is an act of cursing. If one thinks that the deceased can obtain the merit of the ritual, and that observing fasts has the fault of defiling offerings, then such an accumulation of merit is like doing a losing business. The one who recites the ritual for others has benefit because they performed the ritual; the one who has others recite the ritual has benefit because they facilitated the ritual; the deceased can obtain the benefit of facilitating the ritual, because it is driven by their faults. The living can obtain the benefit of making offerings and the benefit of rejoicing, because reciting the ritual makes the living happy and satisfied.
