The preliminary generation of the mind of enlightenment is one. Blessing is two. Making aspirations is three. Explaining the Dharma is four. Protection is five. Binding the face covering is six. Entering after binding the mudra is seven. Descending wisdom is eight. Making it stable is nine. Throwing flowers is ten. Binding flowers on the head is eleven. Removing the face covering is twelve. Showing the deity's face is thirteen. Making the vows stable is fourteen. Relying on the vows is fifteen. Arranging the vows is sixteen. Bestowing the vows is seventeen. Furthermore, in the Secret General Tantra, it says: "The first of the eight aspects is to establish the ground. The second is to prepare. The third is auspicious for entering." Thus, it is necessary for colored powders, but here it is not necessary for painting on cloth, so there is no need for the ground ritual. The preparation and entry rituals are combined into one, connected with the main practice, and completed in one day. In the past, the Bodhisattva Meaningful Accomplishment actually saw the moon, vajra, etc., in his heart, and attained enlightenment by reciting mantras such as (Tibetan: སརྦ་ཡོ་ག་, Devanagari: सर्वा योग, Romanized Sanskrit: sarva yoga, Literal Chinese meaning: All Yoga). Similarly, here, the mind of enlightenment is generated by mantras, as extensively described in the historical root tantras, etc. The tantra says, "Bless those who aspire to enlightenment and pray." Thus, the forehead is marked by a white wheel transformed from the syllable (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Devanagari: ओं, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om), the body is the body of the Tathagata, adorned with excellent marks and signs; the throat is marked by a red lotus transformed from the syllable (Tibetan: ཨཱ, Devanagari: आ, Romanized Sanskrit: ā, Literal Chinese meaning: A), the speech is the speech of the Tathagata, possessing sixty melodious sounds; the heart is marked by a blue vajra transformed from the syllable (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हूँ, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum), the mind is the mind of the Buddha, knowing all knowable things. Bless with mantras and mudras. This vajra mantra mudra is taught in the Nine Crest Tantra. In the twenty-two places, the moon is marked with five-pronged white vajras, visualizing it as the nature of Vajrasattva. The extensive dedication of merit is a condensed verse of the meaning taught in the Nine Crest Tantra, which is the key to not wasting good deeds and increasing them. The tantra says, "Proclaim the profound and vast Dharma." Thus, these words of Dharma explanation are taught in the Manifest Enlightenment of Vairocana, and the meaning is easy to understand. The tantra says, "After protection."

In order to protect the person entering the profound path from obstacles and hindrances, the disciples contemplate protecting all obstacles of body, speech, and mind by touching the three places (body, speech, and mind) with the mantra and mudra of the wrathful deity, the conqueror of the three realms. The mantra and mudra are explained in the tantra. The above is the Dharma for the preparation of the disciple. The tantra says, "Cover the eyes with silk, etc." This indicates that they have not seen the mandala before, so a red veil is tied. In order to indicate meeting the yidam and to examine the signs of accomplishment, flowers are given. The tantra says, "Fill the hands with merit and sit." Thus. The disciple is blessed as Vajrasattva by the Adhishthana (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal meaning) mantra. The meaning of the mantra is: The yidam Vajra especially abides. The disciple makes offerings with the five offerings. The tantra says, "Join the hands in the lotus of the Vajra Holder, adorn it with precious flowers, etc., fill the hands with merit and sit." As it appears in the tantra, form the Vajra knot, extend the two middle fingers, and hold a garland of flowers in between. Grasp the vajra in the guru's hand and enter from the east gate of the mandala. The meaning of the mantra is: Enter with the Vajra vow, and contemplate abiding among the deities. In that assembly, and in the Vajra Peak and the Nine Crests, it says, "The supreme Vajra wisdom, may it descend immediately now!" And, in the Subduing Tantra, this descending mantra is spoken. The meaning of the mantra is: May the Vajra descend intensely! Having generated strong faith in the guru and the mandala deity, they are non-dual, each as described in the scriptures. The Asame (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal meaning) mantra is explained in the Subduing Tantra, to stabilize the wisdom deity, and it is both a vow and a commitment. That is, the great vow of the incomparable three. Contemplate that on the moon disc in the heart, the wisdom deity resides in the form of Hūṃ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal meaning), and keep it in the vow. In order to examine which of the mandala deities is one's own deity, imagine that precious flowers emerge from Hūṃ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal meaning), with hanging bouquets of immeasurable value. The verses and mantras here are explained in the tantra itself. Whichever deity descends, that deity becomes the karmic deity of lifetimes. Contemplate tying the garland on the crown of the head in the manner of accomplishment. The verses and
