Moreover, in the instructions for fire offerings, it is said that the ghost that eats the life of the deceased disguises itself as the deceased, and it is said that things like "the deceased being born as a ghost" possessing people will happen. Also, according to the Nyingma school of secret mantras, it is said, "The life is taken by the executioner demon." This means that since the life is seized by gods, demons, and obstacles, if they are not deceived, it is said that both the living and the dead will be harmed. Similarly, in the oral tradition of the lamas, it is said that if one does not separate from the executioner in this life, then the deceased will not receive the merit done afterward, and when the deceased obtains liberation, obstacles will create hindrances and lead them to bad paths. Since this arises from many teachings on the bardo, such as the Bardo Thodol, those obstacles must be purified. To summarize all the demons, they are condensed into three types: male demons, female demons, and naga demons. Therefore, the naga demons should be pacified, the female demons should be treated with a mixture of pacification and wrath, and the male demons should be purified with wrath. Settle debts with pacification. For those who do not accept it, slightly threaten them with mantras, which is a mixture of pacification and wrath. If that doesn't work, completely destroy them with wrath, cutting off their malicious intentions and abilities, and thoroughly subdue them so that they cannot harm even a hair's breadth in the future. Think of the deceased as having perfect power, strength, and miraculous abilities. It is said that this is a profound method for the deceased to be at peace, the living to avoid death, and for auspiciousness. Because one appears as one's own yidam, entrust consciousness to the demon, mixing it with the mind and afflictions. If the consciousness becomes rough, that is a sign of not separating. If the consciousness feels comfortable and peaceful, and abides in the samadhi of loving-kindness, then it is the protection of great loving-kindness, and one is separated from the executioner, so say the Kagyupas. The tantra says, "Then, to that, this mantra, give it to the water from that and that." Also, the Purifying Tantra says, "For the sake of destroying the sins and so forth of that embodied one, and all the obstacles." Therefore, burning great sins and purifying with water is the only explicit teaching of the tantra, and it is sufficient. Generating the Fire Vajra Dakini is the custom of the highest tantra, and although there is nothing wrong with it, the tantra's meaning itself does not lack these, there is no such fault. In the teachings of the Nine Successive Dharmas, it says, "The method of turning back from that is to strike while reciting the secret mantra, with white mustard seeds and flowers." Also, the Purifying Tantra

Also, after reciting the fifteen kinds of exorcism mantras, take ashes, mustard seeds, flour, etc., and bless them by reciting your own name and the mantra. After reciting, go and throw them into a river that flows into the ocean. Act in this way. The light of the deities falls on the sand or mustard seeds, transforming them into the nature of the five wisdoms. By dispelling with this, the light of the five wisdoms burns away all karmic obscurations like a fire burning a bird's nest, and purifies them like conch shells ground into powder. In particular, the visualization of the oral instructions is: at the crown of the head, throat, heart, navel, between the anus and genitals, and the soles of the feet of the deceased, on a moon seat, visualize the seed syllables of the six realms: A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Literal Chinese meaning: A), Su (Tibetan: སུ, Sanskrit Devanagari: सु, Sanskrit Romanization: su, Literal Chinese meaning: Su), Ni (Tibetan: ཎི, Sanskrit Devanagari: णि, Sanskrit Romanization: ṇi, Literal Chinese meaning: Ni), Pra (Tibetan: པྲ, Sanskrit Devanagari: प्र, Sanskrit Romanization: pra, Literal Chinese meaning: Pra), Tri (Tibetan: ཏྲི, Sanskrit Devanagari: त्रि, Sanskrit Romanization: tri, Literal Chinese meaning: Tri), Du (Tibetan: དུ, Sanskrit Devanagari: दु, Sanskrit Romanization: du, Literal Chinese meaning: Du), etc., white, yellow, blue, red, green, and black, visualizing two letters of male and female dependent origination. To the left and right of these letters, at the crown of the head, visualize two yellow Tam (Tibetan: ཏཱཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ता, Sanskrit Romanization: tāṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Tam), at the throat, visualize two green A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Literal Chinese meaning: A), at the heart, visualize a yellow Tam (Tibetan: ཏཱཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ता, Sanskrit Romanization: tāṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Tam), at the navel, visualize a red Hri (Tibetan: ཧཱི, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह्री, Sanskrit Romanization: hrī, Literal Chinese meaning: Hri), between the anus and genitals, visualize a white Om (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om), and at the soles of the feet, visualize two dark blue Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हु, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum). Around these letters, the root consciousness revolves, and all the karmic obscurations and habitual tendencies of the six realms of rebirth appear as the form of letters. Visualize these merging together, and dispel them with the sand of mantras. The suffering and karmic obscurations of the six realms are purified, and the letters dissolve into mudras. From these, light radiates, purifying the habitual tendencies of the mind and the suffering of the mind in the six realms of rebirth. If the gods and humans are purified, it becomes the Supreme Jewel; if hell is purified, it becomes the Purifying Conqueror; if hungry ghosts are purified, it becomes Shakyamuni Mountain King; if animals are purified, it becomes All-Knowing; if asuras are purified, it becomes the Greatly Increasing Flower. Thus, in their respective places, these all become body images, and the basic body becomes Vajrasattva, and the five aggregates become the nature of the deity. Alternatively, arrange the seed syllables of the six realms as above, surrounded by the root consciousness, and visualize that everything becomes All-Knowing, and that is sufficient. In summary, the main point of the scripture is to focus on illuminating obscurations with light. In the "Purifying Tantra, Crown Jewel Nine Two," it says: Ashes, mustard seeds, flour, etc., bless them by reciting your own name and the mantra. After reciting, go and throw them into a river that flows into the ocean. As it is said. Throwing sand, bathwater, etc., into the river is done because, in the root tantras and the Vajrasekhara, etc., Vajrapani Bodhisattva uses the vast mantra that restores the fallen state of all sentient beings in the lower realms to summon them, and the vast mantra that separates sins.
