He propagated the Buddha's teachings, so he was called Dharma King Dharmapala. His royal family had seven generations of kings, called the Seven Palas. Because of this, most of the kings of India made this deity their Yidam. Therefore, there are very many sadhanas for this deity, and they bestow empowerments in sequence. For guests and pilgrims who travel far away, if they receive this empowerment, they will complete their journey successfully. For those who have many enemies and disputes, receiving this empowerment is very beneficial, so in order to receive such an empowerment, offer a mandala. Homage! Now, the empowerment of the Noble Lady Leaf-Clad, Parnashavari, will be explained. So, first, the history of bestowing the Leaf-Clad empowerment to you all this time is as follows: In the past, in a precious palace on the summit of Mount Meru, countless Buddhas of the Five Families gathered and empowered the Bodhisattva who appeared unmoving in the Samadhi of Aspiration, and when they looked closely, the King of Wrath, Vairochana, appeared with a green body, ten heads, a thousand hands, and thirty-two feet. He pressed the sky of the three thousand great thousand worlds with his feet, emitted rays of light, and purified the world. Then, he gathered the emanations and made the aspiration: I will transform into an ugly form, protect the Dharma, and benefit sentient beings. Immediately, the glorious goddess transformed into the form of a servant and traveled in the world. There, some sons of gods screamed in terror, some watched and laughed, some could not watch, and some sought refuge. At that time, Avalokiteshvara said: Do not fear or scold her, know her as refuge and island, offer and praise her. Then, the gods and the eight classes extensively praised her, making the abode of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas like a jewel ornament. After that, the goddess herself entered Samadhi.

She went to the places of the six types of beings and taught the Dharma, guiding the beings of the six realms. By subduing the wicked, she became known as: The one who empties hell, the one who satisfies the pretas, the goddess of animals, Yangshamma. Then, when she went to the all-gathering tree on the top of Mount Meru, Vajrapani said, "Make offerings and praises to the upholders of the teachings of all the Buddhas." Then, all the eight classes of gods and demons made praises. Vajrapani said, "Praising this goddess is praising me. It is praising all the Buddhas. The goddess will also protect that person. She will save him. She will give him whatever he desires." So he said. It is said that when the Garuda harmed the Bodhisattva with a conch shell tumor, the goddess subdued the Garuda and saved the Naga, so she was called the Conch Shell Protecting Goddess. Then, in the forest retreat called Joyful Radiance, she wore leaves called the Forest Retreat, and recited the dharani of the noble Maitreya. Therefore, the goddess was known as the Leaf-Clad One of the Forest Retreat, Panashavari. This dharani is the wrathful mother of the bird lineage, of the lotus family. It is also taught in the Yoga Tantras such as the Illusion Net, and in the Unsurpassed Yoga Tantras such as Sambhuti and the Manifestation of Accomplishments. Therein, in the glorious Sambhuti, it says: "Pacifying all ferocity, and stealing away all diseases, she is called Panashavari. The yogi should meditate upon her. So said the Bhagavan Vajradhara." From the King of Tantras, the Illusion Net: "Then, the Bhagavan, abiding in the samadhi called the Vajra Victorious Over All Diseases, spoke this vidya-mantra of the Leaf-Clad One of the Forest Retreat, which pacifies great sorrow: Om Pishachi Panashavari Sarva Mari Prashamana Hum Phet." Then, when the vidya-mantra was spoken loudly, the Buddha fields shook greatly. The hearts of the harmful disease-bringers, rakshasas, and haters also fell out. And it says: "Then, when the yogi meditates like that, all uncertainties will be pacified." The samadhi called the Blazing Vajra of Wisdom, which pacifies all diseases
