I, the mandala of the platform is square, with one door facing west. It has three layers of white, red, and black fences, or any one layer. Its deity banners have two layers, with four waters on the right side and five desirable objects on the left side, surrounded by offerings and related items in front. Inside, on an eight-petaled white lotus, there are eight auspicious symbols, or the symbols of the four castes in the four directions, and in the center, on a wooden seat, is a moon or sun mandala, upon which you all are. Generally, it is Vajrasattva, and specifically, you are abiding in the form of the main deity of your own mandala. On the right is a white umbrella with a golden handle, and on the left are victory banners and flags, etc., along with a collection of offerings. Please cultivate the thought of being present. As light radiates from the hearts of you and the guru, invite from the natural abode the Five Tathagatas, etc., and the mandala complete with initiation deities and the three seats, surrounded by countless assemblies of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, into the sky in front. Since the karma vajra is the offering attendant, purification should be done with the six purifying substances. Even though the guru is supposed to recite the mantra, if there are few disciples, the guru usually does it himself. If that is not possible, draw all six items on one torma, visualize and recite the mantra, and merely act as if circumambulating the disciples to the left and right. On your right, place a copper bowl filled with fire, and on your left, place clean water. The karma vajra holds a mixture of white mustard seeds and black sesame seeds with the thumb and ring finger. The right fist circles from the right, the left hand circles from the left, and they circle side by side from both sides. In order to purify obstacles and sins, throw them into the fire and water.
