Outside, surrounded by the four elements of earth, water, fire, and wind, at the powerful boundary of the world mandala, the mandala of the moon arising from the letter A (Tibetan: ཨ, Devanagari: अ, Romanized Sanskrit: a, Literal meaning: None) is appearing, and at the boundary of non-reality, the mandala of the sun arising from the syllable OM (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Devanagari: ओ, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ, Literal meaning: Om) is disappearing. In the middle of fire and wind, the space surrounded by the eight great charnel grounds has a vajra fence, and outside of that, it is surrounded by blazing light. In the middle of that, on the seat of the sun, moon, and Rahu, one instantly transforms into the Bhagavan Kalachakra, radiating five immaculate rays of light. His body is blue, the central neck is blue, the right is red, and the left is white, possessing three necks. The root face is black, fierce, and baring its fangs, the right face is red, with desire, the back face is yellow, abiding in samadhi, and the left face is white, utterly peaceful. Each face has three eyes. The hair is adorned with various vajras, and he has a headdress of a crescent moon and Vajrasattva. The first ring of the finger joints is black, the second is red, and the third is white. They are adorned with finger rings and radiate light. Of the four black hands on the right, the first holds a vajra, the second a sword, the third a trident, and the fourth a curved knife. Of the four red hands, the first holds a fire arrow, the second a vajra hook, the third a Damaru drum with sound, and the fourth a hammer. Of the four white hands, the first holds a wheel, the second a spear, the third a staff, and the fourth an arrow. Of the four black hands on the left, the first holds a bell, the second a shield, the third a fully extended khatvanga (Sanskrit: khaṭvāṅga), and the fourth blood.
