Having said this, it is purified, smeared with cow dung and fragrance, and flowers are spread outside, that's it. Secondly, there are two aspects regarding the thread used for drawing lines: the preparation of the thread and its generation ritual. First, the material for the thread, if cotton wool can be found, or if not, clean and undamaged cotton thread without hair mixed in should be used. Darika said, "From undamaged, clean cotton wool." The General Tantra says, "The thread for drawing mandala lines should be twisted, clean, strong, and thin. Likewise, it should be spun by a young maiden. It should be very clean, beautiful, and very suitable, fragrant, and comfortable to the touch. It should be well spun, strong, with appropriate thickness, and without tangles. Offer the thread with flowers and incense, and the wise one will draw the lines." As it is said, it should be spun by an undamaged young maiden, and the thread bought with the price of a hero is said to have oral instructions. The price of a hero is, as said in the Root Tantra of Manjushri, "The impartial words are the first, after speaking, give a long mantra, then quickly give a reward, this is called the hero's way of buying." As it is said, Darika said that the treated white three-strand thread should be made. For the length and thickness, whether it is the original thread or this one, the guru and disciple both put it in the middle of the left index finger to the four fingers, pull it straight, and except for attaching it to the back of the vajra fist's index finger, it is twice the mandala, and one-twentieth of the door. As it is said in the Compendium of Sources, "The length is twice the wheel, and one-twentieth of the door." Regarding the meaning of twice, Acharya Abhayakara considers that from arrow shaft to arrow shaft as the mandala, and then twice that, which is twenty-four large parts. Shuddha considers that from the root thread to the root thread as the wheel, and then twice that, which is sixteen large parts. Secondly, its generation ritual is to generate everything as deities from the action thread, as Bhava Bhadra and Don Yod Zhap consider, smear it with good fragrant water, five amritas, and the essence of five cows, and place it in vessels of gold, etc. Corresponding to the yoga of one's own main deity, with accumulation and purification as the preliminary, generate all actions as whatever deity, and invite the wisdom being.
