There are many entrances to both "Om" and "Hum." In the King of Tantras, the Vajra Peak, it says: 'What is Om? It is supreme, bestowing wealth, splendor, and auspiciousness, possessing auspicious and complete aspects, the meaning of auspiciousness for those who keep vows, the essence of holding the jewel. What is the letter Hum? It heals suffering and destroys, it cuts the noose of existence, it frightens and cuts off the wicked; Hum is the supreme remembrance.' Therefore, it must be applied according to the specific situation. Here, Om is the five wisdoms. གནོད་མཛེས་ (Tibetan), and ངེས་པར་གནོད་མཛེས་ (Tibetan), are names of Vajrapani. After expelling the obstacles in this way, command them not to come until the meditation on the protective wheel! The wrathful assembly, flames, and weapons gather back and meditate on the protective wheel: above and below, everything is a vajra tent, the ground without seams; behind it, above, is a golden wheel with a thousand spokes facing downwards, rotating to the right; below is an iron wheel with a thousand spokes facing upwards, rotating to the left; between the two colliding, the harmful agents are cut into pieces; behind that, swords, water knives, razors, enemy axes, clubs, hammers, and so on, with their points facing outwards and their roots united, rotating to the right; behind that, a vajra cross with its mouth open, rotating like a millstone, with a small wheel rotating between every four large wheels, rotating without interruption; behind that, a tent with the points of the phurbas facing outwards; behind that, a tent of five-colored flames, without seams or gaps, like an egg; in this way, in the gaps between the six layers of the protective wheel, meditate on the scattered small wrathful ones, dark blue-black, holding various weapons, flickering like stars, and raging like the wind. In this way, the samadhi of the protective wheel is to be declared with mantras: Om, five wisdoms.
