Having studied and practiced the six perfections, liberate all with diligent effort, for the sake of all beings, uphold pure precepts, after I have taken the Bodhicitta vows, liberate those who are not liberated and lead those who have not crossed over, place them in peaceful Nirvana, the Three Jewels are never abandoned. The samaya of the Vajra family is, the mudra of the vajra bell, the Bodhicitta should not be abandoned, the samaya of the Ratna family is, always give the four kinds of generosity, the samaya of the Padma family is, explain the teachings of the three vehicles, the samaya of the Karma family is, strive to benefit sentient beings, the samaya of the Tathagata family is, do not separate from the three mandalas, all the root and branch samayas, I have completely taken them all. Repeat the last two words three times. Then, the attendant joins their palms and holds the plaque, from the four directions according to the words, place the plaque into the mandala, and one relative prostrates, reciting: Hum! The southern gate of the great mandala palace, is blocked by the obscuration of pride, the gate of loving-kindness, the pig-faced mother, the wrathful gatekeeper, the destroyer of the Lord of Death, the wrathful gatekeeper mother, the lasso mother, with the mudra of the skillful means and wisdom lasso, open the southern gate of equality wisdom, may the deceased enter with faith, to the peaceful and wrathful deities of Kuntuzangpo, the deceased pays homage with reverence, may they meet the Yidam deity! Equalizing Gate Snake-faced Mother, the doorkeeper Wrathful Nectar Swirl, the gate mother Wrathful Mother Bell Woman, with the mudra of skillful means and wisdom bell, opens the pure gate of accomplished wisdom, the deceased enters with faith, to the peaceful and wrathful deities of Kuntu Zangpo, the deceased prostrates with reverence, may they meet the yidam deity. Praveshaya Phat! This is abbreviated, for the expanded version, repeat and enter the center, Hum! The four gates of the great mandala, are blocked by the four obscurations of affliction, the doorkeeper Wrathful Father-Mother eight deities, immeasurable gate mothers with four faces, with the four mudras of skillful means and wisdom, the four gates of the four wisdoms, the deceased enters with faith, to the peaceful and wrathful deities of Kuntu Zangpo, the deceased prostrates with reverence, may they meet the yidam deity. Praveshaya Phat! Then cover the picture with a blindfold, Om Chakshu Bandha Wara Manaye Svaha! Imagine the deceased offering flowers, relatives or attendants scatter barley or flowers on the mandala, Hum! This flower of the deceased's awareness, is offered to the peaceful and wrathful yidam deities, whatever karmic connection there was from before, may it fall upon the yidam deity, Praticcha Ho! Place the flower on top of the picture. Accomplished by whatever color of the mandala is seen, the secret name is Immaculate Lotus Tathagata, deceased, do not forget that this is your name! Then, in the manner of opening the eyes with a needle, Kuntu Zangpo Five Families Vajrasattva, your eyes blinded by ignorance, shall be opened into eyes of wisdom, likewise, may you open all beings into eyes of wisdom, Om Vajra Chakshu Praveshaya Phat! After removing the blindfold, Alas! Son of the lineage who has relinquished the body, likewise all beings of yours, you are liberated from all sins, look upon this excellent mandala, generate faith with body, speech, and mind, be born into the lineage of Vajrasattva, blessed by mantras and mudras, may you obtain all siddhis, be diligent in the vows and mantras! Then the relatives hold the picture between their palms, kneeling in front of the mandala, the attendant uses the deity needle to point out the faces of the deities, Alas! Son of the lineage who has relinquished the body, in this great mandala of the palace that appears thus but is without inherent existence, the peaceful and wrathful Buddhas deity assembly also resides.
