The consciousness of the eye is the essence of earth. The consciousness of the ear, which sees sounds without obstruction, is the essence of space. The consciousness of the nose, which senses smells, is Avalokiteshvara. The consciousness of the tongue, which tastes flavors without obstruction, is Vajrapani. The consciousness of the body, which feels touch without obstruction, is Maitreya. The consciousness of the mind, which illuminates everything without obstruction, this consciousness is Ka, which dispels all obstacles. The mind with afflictions, the consciousness that clings to self, is the fierce Ka, is Samantabhadra. The alaya consciousness, vast and bright, is Ka, is the nature of Manjushri. Thus it was said. To the fortunate sons of noble lineage, by bestowing the empowerment of the mind-mother Lasya Ma, may the objects of the eye be purified, may the grasping of form be self-liberated, may the aimless Dharma nature be self-liberated.
