Having become accustomed to all sentient beings, it is said that they are all old mothers of many lifetimes. Therefore, one should cultivate loving-kindness towards all sentient beings, respect parents, respect the Bodhisattvas of the ten bhumis, and understand the meaning of explaining equal benefits. A talkative mother quarrels with all the monks, and where there is female law, women are not beautiful, and many people in Marla village say that they have measles. However, because she is old, she cannot work, and hiring servants is also not enough, but instead, they resist. She does not stay outside, but comes to the mountains every day, and does not stop leaning on her cane morning and evening, and her feet are also lame. Even if she is despised and not beautiful, if she can practice in the mountains, that would be best. Even if she cannot, she should be allowed to eat and sleep, and loving and serving parents is praised by the holy ones. Similarly, for all relatives and monks, whether new or old, who expect and depend on oneself, except for very important matters, do not show aversion, and do not act like an official. Let them stay in their respective corners, and with body, speech, and mind, sincerely love them, and this is also a measure of one's own loving-kindness and generosity. However, for unwholesome actions that harm the Dharma, and evil deeds that harm oneself and others, if one allows them to do whatever they want, thinking that this is loving-kindness and courage, then that is inverted loving-kindness, and a downfall for a Bodhisattva. Therefore, for female law, alcohol law, fighting, etc., one should use methods to restrain them and not allow them to do them. Some say that according to the tradition of the monasteries of U-Tsang, it is necessary to formulate regulations, punishments, rituals, wrathful rites, torma offerings, and subjugation, as is traditionally done. Even if they say so, if one cannot be liberated by teaching the Dharma, even if one makes laws, one will feel uneasy and fearful. Even if one regularly engages in Dharma-compatible learning, sometimes one will quarrel over property. In response to this, perform rituals and then expel them. However, if one violates the regulations and discipline, even if one does not want to expel them, one must expel them, which is very likely. If one does not consider the benefit of future lives, even if the laws are strict and the precepts are pure, it is only a formality. If one deviates from discipline, one will become a degenerate monk. Because one has seen these things, one does not make regulations, but uses teaching the Dharma to practice loving-kindness and generosity. In particular, for all enemies, friends, and neutrals, and for all sentient beings, especially those who harm and obstruct, may they have happiness temporarily and ultimately, and for the cause of happiness, may they engage in virtuous deeds.
